I had played this course many times in previous years, but I never had seen it in this kind of shape. Photo submitted by photorick1010 on 07/25/2014

The only thing worth making a positive comment on was on for this round was the beer girl. Photo submitted by photorick1010 on 07/25/2014
Tight course
This is a great course for the money. The fairways were in great shape. The greens good and with multiple tee boxes fair to all. The course is tight & there are many ways to loose your ball. Overall a great course for the money in Florida in the winter.
Don't play!
Terrible shape!! Not worth anything I hey charge! Staff outside was rude!
Save time and money just go to Putt Putt
Laughable is all I can say about playing here. Had a late tee time which automatically forced me to play 9 instead of 18. Not because it would get dark, but club rules carts have to be back in by a certain time. The fairway and green conditions are similar to my own non-manicured lawn. Clumps of random grass on both. I guess, who cares when the beginners in front of us drive their carts onto the green. Some greens had 10” of slope in a 3 foot distance (Putt Putt). No practice range and water everywhere. Enjoyed the people I was playing with but will not go back. Did enjoy seeing the Tee box guardians
Nice course layout and easy to have a good time playing.
Today the course was slow, I guess because of several groups in front of us had some very slow players in the group. Normally we finish our round within 4 hours, but it took almost 5 hours. Like the course very much, and always enjoy it,
. But rangers need to stay on top of this situation, at the 11th hole we were waiting along with the foursome that was behind us for 8 to 10 minutes.
RIsk Reward is a matter of PUTTING from the deep fairway
Outstanding kudos for the course hosting the BLIND GOLFERS ASSOCIATION EVENT...for those of us with sight, think of never seeing your best drive or putt...
The course pace was good, had a foursome playing scramble and leaving cars all over the place but had little impact...cart girls was around enough that one need not go thirsty...even on a day when regulars cancelled due to it being...too cold in FL...
The fairways and rough are cut extremely short, and make for great rolls on drives, and digging dirt on pitch shots....but...\
After working hard to get to and on the greens, you will be punished...there is not a flat landing spot most anywhere...hit normal pitch shots that should have been a divot due to the height, but, rolled 10-20 feet off the greens...then the SECRET is...to use a putter from far out...so at least you have shot at staying on the green...back nine benefitted from the front nine experience...not a flat spot on the greens with ridges and valleys everywhere...if you play, go with the idea of a 2 putt being outstanding...actually hit the driver with a knock down shot to get to the green on a part 3
Only ask they put better markers on the tee boxes...horse shoes...and colors are tough to find...and a map of the course on the scorecard would be appreciated.
This course was in poor condition. The greens are in awful shape and the fairways need attentiona as well. The course has a challenging appeal, and there is water everywhere.
Bring one dozen of ball
The layout is built around water. Almost all fairways have on one or either sides water. But the worst is the fairways are concave (like inside a bowl) . Even though you hit the fairways, you may loose your ball if it hits the side of the fairway.
To play this course, you need to hit straight. If not, you will be frustrated.
Unique Muni
Clever layout and very unique for a municipal golf course. The greens are difficult, (therefore the slow play). Bill Watts design - he designed about a half dozen courses in the late 60's early 70's. He had a flair and imagination in his construction this shows at Davie. Tons of surprises, (I wouldn't wager with a local). But enjoyable and well worth the value.
The problems:
This track could use some loving touches throughout, but I doubt they have a large budget. Most notably, the practice green by the clubhouse, (mobile home), is basically like a tee or fairway, and not representative of the actual greens. They could fix this without much effort.
The upside:
The nature here is outstanding. Lizards of all colors running around everywhere. Bird species I"ve never seen before hanging out by the tees or trees. Giant frogs!? It was special to enjoy the nature whilst playing our round.
