Davie Golf & Country Club

I was in town visiting my daughter in Davie , booed it through Goof now , staff is very friendly and welcoming .

Course has water hazards on many holes , fairways and greens are not in Good shape . Course layout is confusing .

The greens are in terrible condition

The pace of play is slow, with no ranger to speed it up

The tee markers need a new coat of paint

No practice range and a patch of crab grass for a practice green

I've played this course 5 times now and have told myself each time that Ill never go back. Well here I am, I gave in again because we couldn't find a decent time anywhere else.... I swear this was last time! Course has always been in average to below average condition. Greens could be fun if they ever got them in good shape but ive never seen them rolling. Course condition and layout aren't why I continue to curse this place. This place attracts the slowest and absolute worst golfers I've ever seen in the state. It has taken 5+ hours per round every single time we have played. I'll mention the course is only a par 70. Maybe its the abundance of water and hazards but 5 hours for a round of golf should be illegal. Also don't think I've witnessed anyone playing this course who could break 120. This past week, the twosome we were paired with got angry because we didn't want to play the forward tees at 5000 yards with them. I told them they could tee it forward if they were little meat hitters but then they got angry and acted like I was forcing them to play from tees that were too long. Probably goes without saying but they couldn't even carry the water on 1 from the back tees. After seeing that we could actually hit the ball in the air, the dude proceeded to tell us that he got paired with the wrong group - they were legitimately amazed that someone would play out there that could hit the ball. If youre a bad golfer, this course if for you. If you can actually play, stay far away.

The first thing you experience is an absence of clarity as to where the Pro Shop is to check-in. After some friendly guidance from the Starter, it appears the Pro Shop really is in the trailer / aluminum building out front.

Upon check-in the Starter pitches downloading their mobile app for the course, offering this way you'll know the pin position on the green. Given that move apps want excessive privileges on personal mobile devices and export data,, we didn't even inquire more or indulge. What he fails to mention is the player's score card does not offer a visual layout of the course, nor is there any signage at the holes providing any insight about that particular fairway, direction & layout, etc. so their app appears the to be the key to knowing what's going on, on the course. That said, it wasn't incentive enough for anyone in our foursome given the typical privacy trade-off. DISCLAIMER - we didn't ask about the apps tracking and information access requirements.

That said, the Starter did offer there is water on every hole, which is true, making for challenging hole even for experienced golfer. First timers and early beginners might way to pass on this one for this very reason.

Confusion returns when arriving at the tee box of the first hole, where pairs of hoarse shoes of uncertain color line the box, reminding you of the saying in English class when first learning of Homophones such as, "which, witch is in wich." Everyone in our foursome asked each other, which do you think is supposed to be the white (mens) tee and which is the red (ladies) tees. It got even a little more confusing on some holes with more or less tee markers.

The fairways appear well maintained, in contrast to the greens which have some mixed small patches of weeds and bare spots with sand over top. Greens are generally good though, except in some areas where they are not.

Additionally, we noted the absence of ball washer stations at any of the tee areas.

Finally, the 19th hole in the trailer with the Pro Shop lacked a certain warm and inviting atmosphere that you feel at most golf courses with a real club house, so we didn't inquire if they were fully open and serving ale. Instead we opted to load up and move on.

On more observation was the strict no carts in the parking lot, to go pick up and drop off your clubs. As a person living with disabilities, I would be remiss if I did not note on this.

In general, we enjoyed the golf outing, but might not have felt we got the greatest value if it were not for GolfNow's discount.

With so many other good courses in South Florida, I don't expect to be returning to this one, more than once a season.

I expected more and was disappointed. I felt rushed and uncomfortable. Signage was very poor. No map ...sorry hope it gets better.

Tee boxes are in fair shape, fairways are average as usual, we can tell they're trying to improve the greens by the plugs and the extra stand on the putting surface, overall it's okay, hopefully they will get them in shape soon.

Course is in very poor condition. This includes the tee boxes and the greens for the most part.

No GPS and no map of course. You had no idea of the layout. We found out when we finished that their was an app that would have provided info. Why did someone not tell us? Why wasn't it listed somewhere? Poor management.

We also found out when we got there that there was a tournament so we had to repeat the front 9 to get in 18.

There are so many other better courses. Don't waste your money on this one.

For the amount of money and IN SEASON? The greens were awful and the brown patches affected my putting. for the in season price that was being asked the greens were in such poor condition, kinda sad for a beginner golfer to recognize the poor quality of greens. I just started in january and i am about a hanicap 10-14.
