About
Mt. Woodson Golf Club is one of San Diego County's most popular courses for a number of reasons, one being the spectacular setting. Nestled in the Ramona Valley, the course is sprawls across a dramatic landscape of towering oak trees, enormous granite boulders, and sparkling blue lakes. Nearly every hole on the golf course provides stunning views of the surrounding mountains and canyons. It is also known for being one of the most challenging and well maintained layouts in the area. The tight fairways and small greens demand accuracy. There are also plenty of interesting elevation changes throughout. The golf course offers true target-style golf that will test the shot-making abilities of even the most experienced players. One of the most unique features of the course is the 450-foot wooden bridge that winds through the treetops.

Conditions Above Average
Don't let the Par 70 fool you. The course layout will challenge even the most accomplished golfer.
Conditions were pretty good. Just a little more attention to the tee boxes would be suggested. Greens were just fine. A little fast. No bad lies in the faiways.
Bring balls..
This course is amazing. Beautiful nature scenery all around. Lots of elevation changes and different types of hazards keep you on your toes, so bring a few extra balls. The staff was friendly and helpful. The only draw back might be the small parking lot, and we didn't see a beverage cart at all during our round. The food and beverages they had on hand were tasty and reasonably priced. A great way to spend an afternoon.
Great Experience
Course and staff professional Greens Manager a little annoying but he was cool doing his job I tell you the drive up to this course in the hills was lengthy Beautiful greens gotta hit it straight and play the angles It drizzled the whole time a long challenging course but had fun and we finished

Bring a lot of balls
Beautiful corse winds around the mountain and for most holes your alone. If you hit it straight everytime no problem, I dont.

Great mountain target golf, you need to bring your A game here!
Beautiful layout
Yardage is on the short side, but still kept my score high. Fantastic layout, some very difficult holes, but if you're an accurate iron player you'll do very well here. Greens are fabulous, not too fast, not too slow. Greens are well guarded and you pay a penalty for missing on most holes. Spectacular views. Will definitely play again.
Hidden Jewel
Unfortunately, for some folks these links maybe a little ways up in the hills, but trust me you will enjoy once you get there and play! The greens are awesome! No Marshall, but don't worry about the pace, is usually pretty good. Lots of elevation changes, play smart. Staff is very friendly. Enjoy!

Fairways and greens in great condition. Overseeding on tee boxes needs some work.
Best greens/worst traps
The green are excellent! Traps are dirt/little to no sand!

Well planned course in the middle of sage brush and trees galore. Short course but tight fairways make it challenging.
