The Vineyard at Escondido

I’ve played 3 courses in SoCal in the last 2 weeks and just like the others, the Vineyard needs more water. My major complaint with this course is the sand traps are hard as rocks, if you’re not going to maintain them properly, remove the lips so we can putt out of them.

Great course but the green speed were just unbeatably slow…!

I scheduled a round mid day Sunday and course was pretty open due to weather ( rainy), so pace was good ( finished in 3:45), and played well!

This has always been my goto course when im looking to play within a few days. Its always been in great condition and always fun to play. The layout is very challenging but fair and not real long. However, this round was extremely disappointing. The greens were punch what looks to be a day or two prior, with large holes and lots of sand. There was no mention of this on the website and still charged full rate. The course itself was also very poorly maintained and bunkers had little to no sand. I will give it another chance but not until they get their act together. Don't recommend playing it until then.

Whenever I play here, there’s always something less than ideal. This time, the sand was like concrete—it’s been that way for at least a year now. The fairways were great, though. Greens were being aerated, which is understandable but they should have given a discount due to that. The layout is a good one, though.

Overall solid for the price. Course staff and layout were positives. Pace of play was great for a Friday morning.

Due to warm “winter” the course was shabby and greens were punched pretty late in the season. Staff did not tell us this while booking so it wasn’t a pleasant suprise on hole 1
