Golfer Reviews
Indianwood is good and consistent
Got started a little ahead of time. Fairways are excellent, greens are stressing from lack of rain but still smooth.
Nice Little Course
Some really nice holes and some very challenging. Greens were fast but lacked a lot of grass
Indianwood April 14 2018
This course is a real gem on the Treasure Coast of Florida. There are several holes that need your attention as to where to leave your ball if you miss your target. 8 and 9 come to mind for that. We saw a lot of gators lurking around and several species of birds. This is a great course to get out of the city and see the countryside.
Thank You Management
I recently complained about this courses unannounced shotgun start a week ago or so and I was contacted by management and we discussed the event. Tom was very gracious and quite sincere in his apology. I came away with the belief management is truly working to better communicate with golfers and will do it's utter best to avoid such a problem to occur again.
Indianwood March 17th 2018
Our regular Saturday group have fallen in love with this course. We were the 2nd group out and we had 2 issues. The fog on 4 and the sun on 5 and 6. Things that the course can't control. I'll take some fog and lots of sun anyday. The conditions have improved here amazingly in the last year. The greens are maybe the best we putt on in the area, the fairways are grassy even though not a lot of rain. The coolest thing was the gator lounging by the 11th green. There were a lot of gators around the whole course but that big boy was laying sleeping while my buddy hit his 2nd shot about 20 feet away from him.
Call Before You Go
Our foursome has played this course many times prior to Saturday, sometimes twice a week and we had never experienced the ridiculous conditions that we did Saturday. After arriving for a 1:00 o'clock tee time we were informed that everyone there was going out in a shotgun start, but there were no carts available as there had been a shotgun event that morning and they were still on the course. In talking to the other waiting golfers we found that no one was informed of the shotgun start until arrival at the course. The 1:00 o'clock tee time turned into +/- 1:45 tee time and after the late start the groups were moving smoothly until reaching the tenth hole when somehow several what appeared to be new groups were just teeing off. After we saw they were riding in privately owned carts carts we believe they were members and that management had let several foursome jump in delaying us once again. The weather was getting bad and the new groups in front of us were extremely slow so we to elected to forgo the remaining holes and head to the bar. This was great way for management to maximize profits but a terrible way to treat golfing "guests"
Good round
I was on vacation from Indiana, so it was great to play in February. The course was in good shape. Some of the holes were pretty tight, so it was a good challenge. It got busy in the back nine. We got backed up waiting on a few groups in front of us, which is no fault of the course or employees. Good weather, good course, nice employees. I'd go back if I visit that part of Florida again.
TOUGH WHEN WINDY
Course was in pretty good shape for the time of year, but played difficult because of high winds. Well worth the price regardless. Good layout with a number of holes with water carries. If your game is not up to par, expect to score high. Fun course.
Great deal
Great experience with limited experienced golfers.Fairly open course but enough water to make it moderate difficulty.
course condition
greens over seeded, every sand trap different sand, most grass burned and weeds abound. course management should look into new greenskeeper
Dear justdon
I am Tom McClurg and I am General Manager at Indianwood GC. I wanted to apologize to you and your group for the problems you had Saturday. There was a combination of things that happened and I was not happy the way things worked out that day. You said you have played our course many times so you seem to like the course. I am hoping that your previous visits were much more enjoyable than this one. I would love for you to give me a call at the Pro Shop, the number is 772-597-3794, so we can invite your group out again to play under better conditions. I am off tomorrow but I would love to talk to you more about this and see how we can help you enjoy your round the next time you come out. Thank you for your input, we did not give you a good experience Saturday but I can assure you that the primary goal here at Indianwood is to create a great golfing experience each time you play here. I look forward to hearing from you.
Tom
