Cypress Course at Stonegate Golf Club
About
The Cypress Course is one of two 18-hole, championship courses at Stonegate Golf Club at Solovita. The course has a player-friendly layout with ample fairways and bunkers that are large but generally low lipped. There are some challenges that should not be taken too casually though, including sloped, elevated greens that are heavily guarded and water hazards on fourteen holes. The golf course is known for having scenic par-3 holes that are particularly difficult from the back tees. In addition to the two golf courses, Stonegate Golf Club at Solovita offers practice facilities that include a targeted grass driving range, putting green, and practice bunkers.

SLOW PLAY
Got stuck very early behind 3 frustratingly slow resident members who refused to call me through whilst I was playing on my own.
Eventually I had had enough and skipped passed them on the 13th as did the couple behind me who advised me that tHey and their extended group are well known for this lack of etiquette
No course Marshall to sort them out
Next time I play I will check their whereabouts first
Excellent Round of Golf
The cypress course played very well and is in very good condition
Round of golf on the Cypress course
The course played well and we played the round in three hours and.fifteen minutes .It was great and the others golfer played fast in front of us and we never had to wait at a hole to tee off.
Great course
Really loved playing here course in great condition fast and tricky greens a bit tight in places but really enjoyed playing here :)
Our favorite
Had another wonderful experience at Stonegate golf. Challenging course design coupled with good course conditions made our 4hour round very enjoyable. Kudos to management.
Bad Etiquette
WE played last week and same thing happened again this week, the 2 golfers a head of us, wanted to slow the golf, before they teed off they waited on the tee until the group ahead of them were on the green,. On the 9 th hole a Marshall came by and asked us why yhe group in front was waiting so much we told him, he just said enjoy the day, this went on till the 17 tee when we got there, they were half way down the fairway.,
Myself I think it is the Stonegate Members doing some sort of protest against the public playing golf there.
Pleasant surprise
I went as a single and the starter told me if there was an opening earlier than my tee time he would fit me in. Paired up with two great guys who had played the course many times and were very helpful with the nuances of the course. The fairways were in great shape and the greens were outstanding. The pace of play was good and with the multiple tee boxes I was able to play a distance that suited my game. Very enjoyable and would highly recommend this course.
Good course
Good course. Difficult and fun to play. A little over priced. No beverage cart. No halfway house. They don’t seem to treat the public players as well as the members. If I lived there I would love it. But I probably won’t go back.
Fun course and great staff
Truly enjoy Stonegate every time. Great value for your money and great layout. Played oaks today and cypress yesterday . Both courses are fun but I prefer oaks. Starter was awesome this morning having to deal with a hour frost delay. No one complained and pace was pretty good despite the build up on 1st tee.
Cypress Golf Course
Pace of play was excellent,I was scheduled to play by myself and the course hooked me up with a couple from Canada. It was an excellent round of golf and meet an extremely nice couple. Going to play with couple next Tuesday if everything works out. Thank you very much Stonegate Golf Club.
Extremely Slow
Started off by paying green fees but could not pick up a cart for 45 minutes, why we do not know cart management said they had all carts out and we had to wait for carts to come in. We just made the tee time by 2 minutes, could not practice no time/
In front of us was 3 golfers and directly in front of us was 2 members, we no that as they were using there own golf cart ,
The 3 golfers were long gone we had to wait for these members on every hole, (we are 3 Golfers).
We get to hole 14 par 5 we are all in the fairway the man of the twosome decided to go across a small creek and talk to his friend petting his dog, while we are one shot back waiting, there was another 2 golfers behind us asked us what the hold up was, we told them, they turned around and left not finishing there golf.
ABSOLUTELY UNACCEPTABLE
It gives us the idea that the MEMBERS own the golf course, if that is the situation Stonegate should make it a PRIVATE course to keep the public from playing.
beautiful challenging layout enjoyed very much.....a little pricey
One of my favorite courses to play outside of Orlando. The staff is great and the course is always in great shape. I highly recommend checking out the Cypress course if you are looking for a firm but fair test of golf! Great practice facility as well.
Long, long round
My wife and I have enjoyed playing this course many times. However, last Sunday’s round wasn’t a good experience. Our round took 4:45 hours due to the lack of good management that day at the course. The group ahead of us was out of pace all day. It appeared as I guy in the foursome was actually giving playing lessons. I called the pro shop when waiting on the 8th tee box and told the lady who answered in the pro shop that we were at the 2:10 hour mark in our round and that they needed to send out a ranger to address this matter . She said that she would and hung up. Long story short, a ranger never came out and we had a miserable time playing so slowly. Course management needs to do better.
Great Condition
We played the Cypress course, pace of play was good as we had a two some in front of our group of 3.and a group of 4 behind us.
Tee blocks, fairways, bunkers, and greens were all in great condition,
We always stop and have a beer and meal, we had a 30 minute wait time for a table, buy the fish and chips were worth waiting for.
