Links of Lake Mary
About
Nestled in the gently rolling hills of Lake Mary Links of Lake Mary is a Ron Garl designed course. The front nine is reminiscent of a Scottish links-style course, with wide open fairways, rolling hills and deep bunkers. Watch the wind and keep it low!
Waste bunkers garnish the back and water comes into play on several holes. In a poll, GolfWeek Magazine ranked Links of Lake Mary the 14th best course in the state. Bobby Weed renovated the course in 1996. The course is located just 15 minutes from downtown Orlando and winds through beautiful lakes and wooded areas.
Hole No. 2 is rated as "most challenging in Central Florida"

Big improvements. Very happy I played there.
This course is one of the best layouts, including one of the toughest holes in Florida. I avoided the course because of the conditions, but now everything is really changing and it’s really wonderful too. Be able to play that course again and really enjoy my round. Greens were way better than I expected and of course, from coming out of a bad place. It was far from perfect, but especially for the money, I think everyone should start playing this course and I’m certain conditions will just keep improving and we can get one of Orlando‘s best layouts in great condition again.
Weekday golfing
The price for the course and condition was a pretty good value since de tee-d off later in the day at 1:30 and paid under 50.00 with range balls. There were hardly any other players on the course so the pace was great.
Worst course I ever played
Do not play here! Sand tee boxes - limited grass. Limited fairway grass. RUDE staff, Changed date of reservation to accommodate the club then found we could have played on the date we requested - lied to us! Poor pro shop, bistro only for meals, main club house closed. TERRIBLE CONDITIONS!!!
steadily getting worse
came back to see if they'd made any improvements.....worse. only saving grace is the layout.. guy at check-in was unfriendly
and indifferent at best........I said this last time, but, I won't be back!!!!
SO MUCH POTENTIAL !!!!!
Outstanding!
After reconnecting with the General Manager once things had settled, we both acknowledged that the recent incident could have been handled better by everyone involved and agreed that the best way forward is to focus on the improvements being made.
The goal is to create an environment that is enjoyable and worthy of the great layout the course already offers. One of the things that has always stood out is how fun and welcoming the atmosphere is—the staff and fellow players help create a relaxed, enjoyable environment that makes spending a day on the course even better. I’m looking forward to seeing how things continue to develop.
Long way to go
One of the best layouts in the area, however course conditions are poor. It’s obvious work is being put in but there are a lot of warts to overcome and this course needs a serious infusion of capital to restore it to it’s former glory.
Worth it for a hot deal but buyer beware otherwise
Friendly staff
Staff was friendly course layout was excellent. The greens could’ve been better, but the weather is great and I enjoyed my round.
Can it get worst?
Worst condition I have played. Pathetic washrooms, fairways and greens are almost dead. No one working at anything there. Shameful from what it was a few years back.
Great Value
Great course layout, course is in great shape, people were very friendly, highly recommend.
Nice layout
Good time. Price was right for conditions, not terrible just not over priced. Staff was awesome, will play again.
Definitely Play
Great layout and value. Fun layout with improving conditions and new golf carts.
Improving conditions
Obvious that they are working to improve the poor conditions the course had in recent history. Fairways, tees, and green fringes are much better. Greens appear to be getting serious work but are still in need of improvement.
January conditions
80 degree day here while a foot of snow fell back home. Really good layout otger than hole #11. Greens were in very rough cindition, but recent reviews warned of that. Can see they are putting alot of work into tgem with considerable tobdressing and new growth can be seen. With a little more time and loce, this course will move way up the list for accessable courses on the north side of Orlando.
Save your money, go to Mayfair
$70+ for a tee time should come with at the minimum greens that aren’t caked in sand and roll at a 6, rocks in every bunker, standing water on the par 3 over water and greens that are cut. This had none of those. I was super excited to try the course out after the city bought it, but it’s turning into Casselberry 2.0. They improve it slightly for a month and then don’t care once their tee sheet fills up. Money hungry owners with no understanding of customer retention. DO NOT PLAY THIS COURSE FOR MORE THAN $25.
This course lost its mojo.
Do yourself a favor and skip this course if it is more then $40. They think that $72 for over sanded greens, patchy fairways and unkept bunkers is par for the course with all the other courses around. The other courses are in way better shape for the price. If you have the option to play anywhere else, do it! You can thank me later. This course used to be one of the best. They have lost their way and are in no shape to think they are close to being back. Even the pro shop looks like it has been robbed, A lot more work needs to be done before you don't feel ripped off when you finish 18.
Thanks for the update. My son lives in Lake Mary about 10 minutes from this course, but played it last year and it was nowhere near what it had been as Timacuan. Good to hear that the new ownership is at least making an effort to improve it. I'll be down there in about a month and a half from Pennsylvania, and I may give it another try.
