About
Big Cypress Golf Club is part of a gated golf retirement community called Cypress Lakes. Conveniently located between Orlando and Tampa, the club offers two golf courses, the North and the South. The South Course is a championship layout that is more challenging than the executive-length North Course. Both courses are characterized by the abundance of water and swaying palms, offering the best of Florida golf. The South Course plays a long 6,680 yards from the back tees. The course presents a more demanding test than the North, appealing to more advanced players. Florida Golfer and Senior Golfer have recognized its challenging layout for its excellent conditions and design. Maintenance is a top priority at Big Cypress; on both courses the well manicured fairways and greens are consistently in good shape.

Good find
The greens are immaculate though a little fuzzy. Course was fun, some good risk/reward opportunities.
Solid
Made the drive down from Orlando due to all the 4.5 and 5 STAR ratings, Worth the price we paid on Tee-Off and a Solid, nice course but nowhere near a 4.5 star course. No idea how it gets rated that, Not in the stratosphere with another Lakeland course CLUB AT EAGLEBROOKE or Orlando area courses like Rosen Shingle Creek, OCN, Omni Championsgate, Celebration, Southern Dunes etc and son on.
Over-rated
Came from Orlando because of the reviews. Not a bad course at all - solid - and worth it for the Tee-Off price we paid. However disappointed because it is NOT a 4.5 Star course as its being reviewed. For example, not in the same stratosphere with Lakeland course Club at Eaglebrooke nor Orlando courses like Omni, O.C. , Shigle Creek, Celebration etc, etc.

Nice, worth it
Very nice, well kept course. Dont play the tips, too tough. 200 yards carries on a windy day (Im a 6). Fast true greens.
Played at 2pm by myself. Had to skip a hole or two to keep moving.
Great Experience!
Staff was unbelievably nice and helpful. I was a single and ended up playing in a foursome which is to be expected on a Saturday. All but one of us were first timers at the course. Played from the green tee’s (just under 6,000 yds). Tee boxes, fairways, & greens were great. Greens were fast and rolled absolutely true. I will be back to this course. Practice facilities were great! Love the complimentary range right before the first tee. The bar & grill looked nice, but I can’t review because I didn’t go in. I am guessing that this course gets played early in the day by residents who take pride in the course conditions by fixing divots & ball marks. Can’t say enough about my experience. Go on and enjoy. Would recommend showing up at least 30 minutes ahead of time so you can roll some putts and hit a few balls to loosen up before your round.

A Gem
First time playing here despite 20 years of Orlando trips.
Excellent course in great condition. Greens are very true and speedy.
Layout is tight in places which is a great contrast to some courses in the area.

Great value and worth the trip
First time playing Big Cypress. Drove 40minutes to the course and well worth the trip! All the staff I interacted with were incredibly friendly and the course itself was great. Course condition was great and especially the greens… the greens were dang near perfect condition. I played early and there was hardly a ball mark in sight on the greens. I will definitely be back. Highly recommend!
Greens were in fantastic shape. Fairways were wonderful. Had a great time and enjoyed a great meal afterward in the clubhouse . Can’t wait to play there again.
