About
Big Cypress Golf Club is part of a gated golf retirement community called Cypress Lakes. Conveniently located between Orlando and Tampa, the club offers two golf courses, the North and the South. The South Course is a championship layout that is more challenging than the executive-length North Course. Both courses are characterized by the abundance of water and swaying palms, offering the best of Florida golf. The South Course plays a long 6,680 yards from the back tees. The course presents a more demanding test than the North, appealing to more advanced players. Florida Golfer and Senior Golfer have recognized its challenging layout for its excellent conditions and design. Maintenance is a top priority at Big Cypress; on both courses the well manicured fairways and greens are consistently in good shape.

The drive is worth it!
First time playing the course, it was about an hour drive from South Tampa but one I’ll be making again! Great value, great condition, only about 6500 from the tips but still a great course overall!
Worth The Drive
We always enjoy playing Big Cypress. Even though there are a significant number of residents/members here, we have always felt welcome, unlike many other semi-private courses where the members see you as an intruder. The course overall was in excellent condition, which we have come to expect. We will continue to play here from time to time if tee times remain available.
Fantastic greens and great conditions
Have played here many times over the years. The greens were one of the best I have played this year. Fast, smooth and immaculate. Got rained out after 9 but really nice condition.
Really nice course, but it’s “cart path only” these days
Love playing this course, great layout. All in good condition, but it was “cart path only”, which is a bit annoying and it would have been nice to know before you book/buy tee time though GolfNow. If I knew, I would have waited a couple of days.
Excellent layout
Really nice course and layout. Did not see anyone else out there playing in 97 degree heat. Greens were a tad bit slow probably so they did not get burned from the heat. My son and I really enjoyed our day.
Good for the money
This course is located in a 55+ community. The guy in the pro shop was slightly rude while checking in. I am under 30 and look even younger, I’m sure he is unpleasant with all outsiders. Threatened to kick us off the course if we didn’t abide by 90 degree rule before anything. The starter on the other hand was super nice and was able to lend a few tips about the course. The whole course was in great condition for the price paid. Tees and greens were like carpet. The greens were a little slow but rolled straight. Layout was good and I would come back again from orlando area. Played from the blacks 6600 and shot 79. 1st time playing here
Staff is very accomodating, very nice course. Will highly recommend to play.

The best
I live close to the course and I play every chance I can get. Everything is so convenient and the staff is great The course is always in excellent condition and the layout is very good. It's challenging, but also forgiving and as you play, you can enjoy the wildlife around you. Love it !! .

Majestic Course
First time ever playing this course. Memorable fairways. Gorgeous greens. Course layout is perfect. 18th hole makes for a great way to close out a course.
Tee area in terrible shape!
Only one of 18 tees were Bermuda grass and the rest were overrun with a weird fuzzy long weed.
Well kept
The South course, although much shorter in length still provided it's challenges. Fairways and the greens are some of the best kept in Polk county, Florida. It complements the North course very well. If you like to use your irons, I highly suggest this course.
Nice little track
First time playing here. Greens had recently punched and top dressed so that left plenty to be desired but fairways and tee boxes were in very good condition. Played in the afternoon so pace was no issue.
Fun, challenging course
Nice layout, challenging but fair. Fairways were good, greens had been aerated, so not as they could be. Great round of golf .
