About
Big Cypress Golf Club is part of a gated golf retirement community called Cypress Lakes. Conveniently located between Orlando and Tampa, the club offers two golf courses, the North and the South. The South Course is a championship layout that is more challenging than the executive-length North Course. Both courses are characterized by the abundance of water and swaying palms, offering the best of Florida golf. The South Course plays a long 6,680 yards from the back tees. The course presents a more demanding test than the North, appealing to more advanced players. Florida Golfer and Senior Golfer have recognized its challenging layout for its excellent conditions and design. Maintenance is a top priority at Big Cypress; on both courses the well manicured fairways and greens are consistently in good shape.

Fairways a greens are always nice every time I play the course
Great golf course
Challenging golf course, that's in great shape, and uses the superb Diamond Zoysia grass on the greens maintained by a great staff. I'm so impressed with this club and this course that I just put a down payment on a home there.
Players need to maintain the course use sandbox on the tees and full in fairway divots and green ball divots think about other players very simply golfing etiquette.
Great course
This is our second time on Big Cypress and liked it just as much as the first. The course is in great shape, so a golfer can focus on the challenges almost each hole provides. Besides a very nice staff, the best part of the course is the Diamond Zoysia grass on the greens. Soft but very tight and roll out true. Very fun day.
Best public course in Central Florida
My partner and I play a couple golf courses a week in Central Florida and hands down Big Cypress is the best we've played. The course is challenging, without being ridiculous; both the course and grounds are very well maintained; the area surrounding the entire property is picturesque; the greens are the best we've ever played; the bunker sand is excellent; carts are in very good condition; and the staff couldn't be nicer. I've played courses where the green fees are 5 or 6 times more and Big Cypress is just as nice.
Walk in the park
It is nice playing this course because it feels like a journey through the woods. Serene and quiet with beautiful scenery. The only thing you need to know is the the greens have recently been aerated and have to cure for a few weeks. Bumpy greens
Beautiful course with perfect greens
The greens were in perfect shape, no patches or sand areas but were a bit slower (which I like). The fairways and rough were also in great shape, the rough being nicer than some fairways at other courses. Will definitely play here again especially with a hot deal. Worth the 40 minute drive

Pleasantly surprised, this course is phenomenal. It’s one of the best courses around the area and the price is excellent. Great shape, great layout, it’s kind of a hidden gem. Go play this course.

Anytime you can get out and play a great course, it is a pleasure. I have been playing this course for several years and it does not disappoint. Kudos to all involved in maintaining this course.
