About
Big Cypress Golf Club is part of a gated golf retirement community called Cypress Lakes. Conveniently located between Orlando and Tampa, the club offers two golf courses, the North and the South. The South Course is a championship layout that is more challenging than the executive-length North Course. Both courses are characterized by the abundance of water and swaying palms, offering the best of Florida golf. The South Course plays a long 6,680 yards from the back tees. The course presents a more demanding test than the North, appealing to more advanced players. Florida Golfer and Senior Golfer have recognized its challenging layout for its excellent conditions and design. Maintenance is a top priority at Big Cypress; on both courses the well manicured fairways and greens are consistently in good shape.

great place for golf
The course is in good condition if not at it's best . Still, is my favorite course in Lakeland . Pace was slow and couldn't finish my round,however,the day was very pleasant and I enjoyed it very much..
Great shape!
Loved the course and the staff went out of their way to be friendly. Greens were excellent.
Score card was not as good as expected
Everything was excellent, with exception of the score card. No hole layout provided.. As first timers we had to stop at every hole yardage pole to determine if the hole had a dogleg or not, had water across the fairway, or what ever. It was great course and a wonderful day, but score was hurt by lost in balls. Sill looking forward to my next outing on this special course.
Love this course - very good track. Highly recommend
I played Big Cypress South about a month ago and it was very plush and in excellent condition. Yesterday still good but you could see the fairways starting to burn and very fast. Greens still very good. Love this course design. Thinking of trying to rent and play there next winter. One of my favorite courses south of Orlando.

The course is in great shape. the greens roll fast.good fairways. Challenging from all teas definitely will score better after you play the course a few times

The course is in great shape definitely need to play a time or two before you could expect your best round hazards everywhere Little surprised the bar close so early in the restaurant wasn't open Monday Tuesday other than that very good value for the money

Gem of a Course...!!!
I'm a Snowbird from Canada and try and experience as many courses as I can while I'm here for the winter.....I've played over 100 courses in an around Central Florida and what a treat to finally play this one. First time visiting Big Cypress and was not disappointed. The course conditions were excellent and the greens were as good as any I've putted on. If you're willing to make the drive as it's a little off the beaten track, but well worth it. I will definitely return! Loved Big Cypress!!
As good as it gets
Very good layout and GREAT conditions. One of the top places to play between Orlando and Tampa. Would enjoy playing there every day.
Great course
I always enjoy playing this course. I would play more often if I could, but living on Social Security,I cannot afford to play as much as I would like.
