About
Big Cypress Golf Club is part of a gated golf retirement community called Cypress Lakes. Conveniently located between Orlando and Tampa, the club offers two golf courses, the North and the South. The South Course is a championship layout that is more challenging than the executive-length North Course. Both courses are characterized by the abundance of water and swaying palms, offering the best of Florida golf. The South Course plays a long 6,680 yards from the back tees. The course presents a more demanding test than the North, appealing to more advanced players. Florida Golfer and Senior Golfer have recognized its challenging layout for its excellent conditions and design. Maintenance is a top priority at Big Cypress; on both courses the well manicured fairways and greens are consistently in good shape.

Golf Pals
Overall course is in great shape. There were a few areas in the greens under repair but manageable. Fairways have grass, but I wasn’t there much, lol.
This course has some challenging holes.
If u haven’t played here what are u waiting for I think this course is one of the best in Lakeland FLA.

Water World
Lots of water on course makes for some challenging holes. Playing from back tees requires long carries over water to some narrow fairways. Forward tees allow for more generous miss-hits. Fairways are in great shape and the greens are in excellent condition, fast and true. Best retirement community course I have played. My wife had her best round of golf at this course. Gators sunning themselves made for some good photo ops. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely be back to play this awesome course.
Nice well-mannered course
Big Cypress South is a very well maintained course set within a nice community of manufactured homes. Staff is extremely welcoming and the course layout is fun with tee boxes available for short & longer hitters. My only complaint with yesterday's round was our pairing, which is no reflection on the course. Guys:. If you don't care to spend more than a couple of hours for a round of golf, stay home! Speed golf is NOT enjoyable to all. A 4-hour round (18 holes) is just fine & you may find that actually completing holes & following golf etiquette not only improves your score but makes your game much more fun!
Big Cypress South
One of our favorite courses in the area. Always enjoy our round there especially today when my husband got his first hole in one on the 5th hole. We stayed to eat in the restaurant afterwards. The fish was delicious. Will be back.
Absolutely wonderful!
Course is in great shape! Staff is always friendly from the lady at the front gate to the Pro Shop & Starter & staff in the restaurant! We played 18 holes, put our reservation in for dinner for 4 hours later than our tee time & had a wonderful dinner! Thank you all!!
Slick greens
2nd time playing this course. Last played 2 years ago and the course is in good shape considering the weather so far this year. Greens look like they had been recently aerated but they were FAST.
Always a Pleasure
My wife and I play here periodically and the course is always in good shape and the staff always friendly. Greens were exceptionally good, hard and fast today, yet they would still hold a high enough shot. Fairways were hard and firm yet a divot could be taken. Being a PGA Professional, I usually don’t pay to play courses if enough notice is given, however, I have no problem at all paying to play Big Cypress! Keep up the great conditions and the great staff! I would recommend this course to all of my associates! Nice work!
This course is in the middle of a community and it is very nice. Staff all very friendly and helpful. Course has a very good layout, not too tight for tee shots, greens are big, roll true and good speed. Really an enjoyable course to play and will certainly try and put this course into our groups rotation
