South Course at Big Cypress Golf & Country Club

Had a wonderful day on the South course at Big Cypress. A really friendly welcome in the pro shop and from the starter. I was unsure what the course would be like being in a Retirement Community but don’t let that put you off as this is a great course and wonderful value. Some tough holes with plenty water in play throughout. Tees fairways and greens all in great condition- greens not the quickest but running very true. Would recommend to everyone and I look forward to a return visit

this is the best conditioned course I have played lately

the greens are a little slow because they appear to have been aerated a few weeks ago rest of course in perfect shape not a weed anywhere

The course plays short and is all together a modestly challenging design. The fairways where a little soggy in spots and crispy in others. They are generous and the hazards are never really an annoyance. The greens are a pleasure to play and some of the nicest greens in the area. Certainly the nicest greens I’ve encountered for the price. The course value is high and defiantly worth a try. Pace of play was 3:20 mins for a foursome.

Staff in pro shop were extremely rude. Showing up on time isn’t how they do things. They want you “early” because they have “rules”

Course was okay, but nothing special. Ranger constantly followed us throughout the round.

Felt very out of place. Do not recommend to anyone.

Best course Ive played here so far course in great shape

Enjoyed the round. Greens very good, and slightly on the slow side compared to others. Lots of water, and if you play off the black tees (not me), be prepared for some really long drives (200 yards +) to clear trouble.

Drove from Kissimmee, but unlikely to make the long journey again, as the course did not warrant it. However, if you are 30 minutes or less away, then give it a go.

We played here 2 years ago and had a great time on and off the course,we decided to play again this year,we were not disappointed we had a great day playing course was in great condition for the amount it played,great staff in the clubhouse they know how to pour a mean drink lol,nice atmosphere about this club we all really enjoyed our day again.

Excellent course well worth my 50 minute drive. Lots of grass with good lies, true greens and nice traps. Some tough holes but fair. Good pace today

Great layout, houses far enough away where they are hardly noticeable. Greens in good shape but a bit on slow side.

Lakeland’s hidden gem. Aside from a few tee boxes, some of the best conditions you’ll find in Lakeland. Outstanding greens year round and a good challenging course from the back tees.

Very busy. Proshop staff was very accomodating and friendly. Good bar service and very clean amenities. They could really use some new carts but did not have any issues. The course is maintained excellently. Saw some gators,turkeys,and lots of rabbits. Overall very nice day of play with good friend. Will return.

I love this course been here since Nov1 and have played a lot of course s I would play this 5 Days week if I could .The Course is in great shape.

We had group behind hit into us twice.

The marshall handled it very well. Seemed the young fellows didn't realize we were bound by groups in front, and that one lad could hit a longer ball than he was aware of.

This course was in great shape and had plenty of nice golf holes that were easy on the eyes. The greens were awesome - rolled very true. The front 9 we whipped around in an hour and twenty minutes but somehow on the back 9 a 4some and a 3some were in front of us - it appeared they let a few of the locals out in front of us which made for a slow back 9. There was no snackshop or halfway house or anything like that open until 11 am! Crazy! We made the turn before then and had no option prior to the round starting for anything. But, the course was worth playing for sure.

Very good conditioned golf course in the middle of a 55+ community. Greens were in great condition - maybe a little slow. Water creeps in on a few holes. Worth the $50 we paid.

Great day at Big Cypress. All of the staff from the Pro Shop, Starter, and Ranger were very helpful and friendly. Area residents also were very friendly. Course was in great shape and not too challenging but a fair experience. My wife and I thoroughly enjoyed the day and will be back. We ate lunch at the grille and it was excellent.

This course was in great condition and extremely enjoyable to play. I would call it a diamond in the rough. The layout was enjoyable and tee set up to accommodate any level of play. Plenty of challenges but not too hard. Loved the round. Will definitely come back to play again.
