Plantation Palms Golf Club
About
Plantation Palms Golf Club, designed by David Harman, provides every Tampa golfer with a challenging and rewarding golf experience. The links-style design starts with a welcoming par 5, and then slowly steps up with a mixture of strong par 3s. Just 10 minutes north of Tampa, this course was carved a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. Plantation Palms Golf Club has an attractive framing of greens by the use of pine trees, water and large snow-white sand traps. The true-rolling elevated greens have good movement and are a challenge for golfers.

Fast Greens for a public course
This course is probably the best bang for your buck in the Tampa area. Greens are 11+ on the stint on the regular, and for public course, this is probably the best, even better than most private courses.
Great Course Layout
As this was my first time visiting plantation Palms, I found the course to be in great shape. Greens were fantastic. The staff was pleasant and very professional. The driving range facilities were also perfect. Looking forward to coming back here and playing again even enjoy a drink at the bar afterwards, and everybody in the bar was pleasant, professional, and attentive.
Fun. No need for cart path only.
I respect the course trying to protect the low areas, there was a lot of rain I was told, but after a few holes it was dry and safe in almost all fairways, wish they turned the cart path only off. Other than that, course was in great shape, greens rolled nice, pace was great.
Hidden Gem- Definitely playing again
Played Plantation Palms for the first time today and was pleasantly surprised across the board. The greens were in great shape — fast and true, but still receptive thanks to recent rain. It was cart path only, which was completely understandable given the recent downpours — and it clearly helped keep the fairways in excellent condition.
The starter was exceptionally helpful, and the pace of play was great. I teed off solo around noon on a Friday and fully expected to wait behind groups, but everyone moved quickly, and it made for a smooth round. Carts were clean, in great shape, and equipped with GPS, which is always a nice touch. (And the USB ports all worked)
The course is challenging, with some tight fairways, and challenging pin placements today. Long hitters will need to keep their drivers dialed in, or it may be better to rely on a wood.
Tee boxes were in solid shape, and the fairways were in great shape, especially at this price point — a real bargain for the quality. The bunkers were not in the best shape, but it's been pouring rain this week, so it's understandable.
The driving range had music playing, which gave it a great vibe. While I didn’t see a full short game area, it didn’t take away from the overall experience.
Only 25 minutes from downtown Tampa, this course is a gem and absolutely worth having in the rotation. I’ll be back for sure.
great course.
as soon as you pull up you know your in for a treat. there’s music and they even have their own mini golf course. starter was great don’t know his name but he was young and the greens are very fast which you don’t usually get around this time in florida with all the rain fairways are perfect tee boxes are good aswell. for sure will be back as it was beautiful. had an amazing round out there and highly reccomend also range has lights so you can go there at night and hit balls. hidden gem.
It’s Getting Better!
This course continues to improve and get itself back to the shape and condition it was in several years ago. Greens were aerated about a month ago and coming back nicely. Fairways are in pretty good shape. Now to give some tender loving care to a number of Tee Boxes. Need to work on the Silver (Ladies) Boxes as a number of them are areas mowed very low and just shy of the fairways leaving some ridiculous sloped Tee Boxes to hit from.
Great Local Track
First time playing here and will be back! Got rained out but will be back to finish the round. Good layout and conditions around the course. Bring some water!
Great course, but they are redoing some tee boxes making the holes, not as challenging.
Will be back for sure!
Played Plantation palms for the first time as a single, was paired with two gentlemen who were very cool and we had a great time playing a round. Course was in great shape, greens have just been aerated and still rolled very well. Pretty tough course if you’re a beginner though! I will return no doubt!
