Plantation Palms Golf Club
About
Plantation Palms Golf Club, designed by David Harman, provides every Tampa golfer with a challenging and rewarding golf experience. The links-style design starts with a welcoming par 5, and then slowly steps up with a mixture of strong par 3s. Just 10 minutes north of Tampa, this course was carved a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. Plantation Palms Golf Club has an attractive framing of greens by the use of pine trees, water and large snow-white sand traps. The true-rolling elevated greens have good movement and are a challenge for golfers.

Decent course but you’re better off walking.
The carts are the worst thing you could of done. The random group I paired with and I all agreed we will not return until the at the very least turn the gps crap way down. I get staying out of wet areas, greens, and tee boxes. But watching a marshal power sliding on a fairway was an absolute slap in the face.
Great condition
Best condition its been since I’ve been playing there. Greens had no dry spots. Very happy with it
Terrible Experience with Carts
Had great weather and the course was somewhat empty. The greens were in decent condition and so were the fairways, but the tee boxes were terrible. What made the experience really terrible were their new golf cart with GPS that kept stopping us from travelling in the most common sense areas. We constantly had to reverse the cart as the GPS would stop the cart, notify you they would disable in 5 second, and not show any range/position until you reversed the cart to the cart path or approve area.
Upgraded
Been a few years since my last round and pleasantly surprised by the upgrades and upkeep. Not overly challenging layout but we didn’t play from the tips. Overall great day of golf. Will be back
Love the course, hate the golf carts
Fine layout and it's in good condition. The GPS in the carts is very annoying.
No longer my favorite course
I used to love this course. Not anymore. The new carts with the GPS makes for a long day as it is constantly shutting you down. Several times I was on the cart path or within a foot of it and it would beep and flash to return to cart path. Some holes were cart path only and I was told GPS would tell me and it didn't until it was to late and would shut down before I could get back to cart path. Some holes were over 100 yards out that made you go to cart path. 20$ for a rider, ridiculous. Staff just shrugged off my concerns about the GPS possibly not working correctly.
worse course ever played
I think this is the worse course I've ever played. I don't even know where to start. The carts are GPS enabled so they randomly shut down, I was ON THE CART PATH and it starts yelling at you. When you park next to the tee box on the cart path it will beep non stop to move off tee box. I spent more time trying to find out why the its yelling at me than playing golf. Groups would skip constantly playing like speed golf, ranger did nothing. Then the cart yells were behind the pace. The sand traps are concrete, zero sand. The ground is so freakin hard and compact, its like hitting off pavement. The rough and fairways are the both the same cut same height? Do you ever water the grass?
Great Value
Excellent layout that has improved greatly. Greens in very good shape and fairways getting there. Full grass range and nice GPS system.
Great Course
This is not the first time I have played this course. Great improvement since it opened. The guys I played with all enjoyed the course.
Decent couse, rough pace of play
We visited in the morning during a weekend, so we figured that the pace of play would be much quicker than an average weekend. Boy were we wrong. Tee times are right no top of each other. We had players behind us shoot into us on multiple occasions. The course is decent enough with some very tough par 3's. It is nothing special for a Florida course, but it is well maintained and the staff are friendly.
Great afternoon.
Course was generally in good condition. Much better than some of the other courses in the area post Covid.
Fairways were expansive and well tended, greens were acceptable, bunkers were hard packed and grown over in some areas. Carts were ultra modern and brand new. Rangers and starter were sociable and helpful. The GPS in some areas needs to be adjusted. Great range and practice area. Course was challenging but fair. Overall had a really great afternoon and I will definitely be back.
Good value
Nice layout and the pace of play was good, I played my round in 3 hours. The greens were slower compared to my previous round but overall no complaints and I recommend this course.
Just okay
The course was booked to the rim. we were late and it seemed as if we had committed a cardinal sin, so turn up late if your of color. I saw others turn up late and they were not harassed. Anyhow, the course has a decent layout, there's nothing spectacular about the course, the greens were running slow and moderate, so each green was a new adventure. The tee boxes and fairways were in decent shape. We were paired up with a young couple, that were sharing her clubs, as he was not a golfer and she played for her school, so that was an adventure watching them go back and forth trading off clubs. No, nothing was done about it, as there was no ranger.
I would not be in a rush to go back to the course, I had not played there in over 2yrs, so it maybe another 2 before I go back.
I walked the course, but I did see that there is GPS on the carts.
