Plantation Palms Golf Club
About
Plantation Palms Golf Club, designed by David Harman, provides every Tampa golfer with a challenging and rewarding golf experience. The links-style design starts with a welcoming par 5, and then slowly steps up with a mixture of strong par 3s. Just 10 minutes north of Tampa, this course was carved a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. Plantation Palms Golf Club has an attractive framing of greens by the use of pine trees, water and large snow-white sand traps. The true-rolling elevated greens have good movement and are a challenge for golfers.

Course continues to improve. Very challenging course so keeping your ball in the fairway is a must. Some of the sand traps need attention but overall nice course to play especially during the week.
Improving every day
What a great round. Staff is awesome. Place just keeps getting nicer and nicer.
Keeps improving
The course layout is challenging but fair. Improvements continue to be made. The greens are rolling nice and the fairways are in decent shape. The staff is always friendly and the food at mulligans is tasty.
Course has come a long way and continues to improve. Very challenging from the back tees. Keeping the ball in the fairway is a must to score on this course.
Excellent All Around
This is a very good place to play. It was challenging but very enjoyable, with generous fairways and large greens. Wet conditions had some of the areas soggy, but it was great that 90% was accessible by cart. The 2-some that rounded out our group were members that live in the community and they were very enjoyable.
Excellent Greens
Nice course layout with fast greens and true greens.
Excellent greens!
Great value for a public course. Good greens are the most important attribute for any course, and this place has some great ones. They’re undulating and quick, but they’re fair. Approach shots are framed nicely, and the course is fairly forgiving off the tee. 7.8/10
Great Value
Pace was a bit slow, 3hrs 45min for a two-some. Greens are in excellent condition !!! The sand traps around the greens were in bad shape. We had fun and plan on returning.
Wet soggy fun
After 4 days of rain, Surprise, the course was a little damp. Cart path only. Still had fun. A threesome a few groups ahead held up whole course with very slow play. Ranger talked to them. They sped up for two holes and then slowed down again. We made the best of it and still hit some good shots. The greens were great. The bunkers were fish ponds. Not grounds crews fault! That this course was open and playable was due to hard work by Grounds crew. TRUE STORY- On 18 a pond guards the frond of the green. I hit short and came to rest on the mud between water and grass lip. As I was walking up,a 3.5-4 foot gator came out of the water and ate my new yellow wilson ball. It then skeedaddled back into the water. Hope he enjoyed the snack. Play this course. The staff is great. The grill is good. Watch out for ball eating gators.
Course should have not been open
The course should have been closed this day..
Due to all the rain, it was cart path only, which is usually not an issue, but since there was so much water on the fairways and around the greens, I lost multiple balls , where normally they would be good
Especially around the green where they haven't been able to mow due to the standing water.
Management should have considered this before letting players out.
Golf is supposed to be fun, this was far from it.
I may consider going back when dry.
No Water !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Since it is summer in Florida I always take water and gatorade with me to the course. It was so hot yesterday that I ran out of my fluids and was looking for water. Every other course that I play puts out cold water for their players. Not Plantattion. Not 1 drop of water on the course. Their excuse is the virus. That's bull. The other problem I had was that they made me play cart path on the front nine when there was very little wet spots on the course. Maybe the problem here is the management. The course itself is very nice and super challenging. The greens are like putting on ice. I wont go back for a while.
Solid forgiving course
Played yesterday and this is a great course for people who hit trees and land in the woods - takes a pretty bad shot to get there on a majority of the holes. I will say - BE CAREFUL AROUND TREE ROOTS! I played my first time here last mont and rolled my ankle BAD, keep your eyes on the ball, and eyes on the ground. Do not recommend jogging back to your cart haha.
Greens
Phenomenal day out at plantation. Greens were awesome, fast and true. Glad to see they are taking care of this place. Only complaint is that some bunkers were messy and not raked, but guess what? Don’t hit it in the bunker and you don’t have to worry about that. I’ll be back soon. Hats off to the superintendent.
