Plantation Palms Golf Club
About
Plantation Palms Golf Club, designed by David Harman, provides every Tampa golfer with a challenging and rewarding golf experience. The links-style design starts with a welcoming par 5, and then slowly steps up with a mixture of strong par 3s. Just 10 minutes north of Tampa, this course was carved a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. Plantation Palms Golf Club has an attractive framing of greens by the use of pine trees, water and large snow-white sand traps. The true-rolling elevated greens have good movement and are a challenge for golfers.

Challenging course but great fun
Set in a beautiful area in Land O Lakes Florida, this course is well laid out with lots of water and some interesting par3 holes. Not for beginners however as there are some long over hazard and water shots that require good iron skills. My sister did not like the course because of this.
Also some of the holes are close to houses and can be easily hit (ask me how I know!) so accuracy is required.
The staff were friendly and helpful and there’s even a mini putt on the premises which is good for budding enthusiasts and families. .
Rainy day
Course in good shape other than the drainage work that is being done played in just over 3 hr
Great value
The course is coming along nicely. They are working on the drainage system but it does not interfere with play. Have seen many improvements since last year. Will definetly play it again.
Fair
Challenging but fair layout. Very enjoyable round and day.
What a great layout.
Ok this course is not Innsbrook but it is a great layout. Every hole memorable and very playable. Driving areas are more than adequate without being boringly wide. Water but not overdone. Mounding and rolling fairways make holes interesting. Condition not top notch but greens puttable and fairways and rough have enough grass to get away from those sandy Florida lies. Simply a great layout that doesn’t overwhelm you with difficulty. I could play this course all the time what else can I say.
Grewat track
Some tough holes but fair overall. Bunkers were unplayable as they were washed out and have not been attended to in the past week.
Still a work in progress
Since re-opening it has been a roller coaster ride with conditions. It seemed that they were making steady (although slow) progress, but at least one could see improvements. Today was a huge disappointment. It seems that drainage problems have taken over at the expense of needed regular maintenance. Right now the course has the upper hand over the grounds crew.....hopefully when the current issues are resolved more effort can be put into improving playing conditions. I wish you luck.
Very slow
Course was in good shape but with no starter, the course got extremely backed up and had to sit and wait 10-15 min each hole and took me 3hrs to play 9 holes and I eventually just left. You’d think that with it being so busy that they would have a starter to spread everyone out. Not to mention they were out of carts and I had to wait for that also. Would like to play again once they get there stuff together!
Beautiful course, staff was very friendly.
They pair me with other 3 players and we all enjoy the time and the round.
Low lying elevation = wet course
This course will have to improve the drainage before I would play again. Seems even the slightest amount of rain in the week prior to our play resulted in the fairways being wet.
Interesting Layout; greens a little bumpy
Pretty good value at what I paid this day, which was $24. Challenging course.
Super Slow Pace
Course needs a ranger, there are super slow groups that slow the pace. The 14th hole had 4 groups waiting to play?Took us 3 1/2 hours to play 13 holes. No drink cart that would have at least given us some comfort. But never in 52 years playing golf have I seen 4 groups on on hole.We quit and didn’t finish the course. We play here often but may need to move on elsewhere.
Good value
Nice layout. Conditions okay for this time of year. Greens quick and true for the most part.
A Little Afternoon (Tee Time) Delight
Our early afternoon tee time could not have been better. The course conditions continue to imorove. We will absolutely be back...soon!
