Plantation Palms Golf Club
About
Plantation Palms Golf Club, designed by David Harman, provides every Tampa golfer with a challenging and rewarding golf experience. The links-style design starts with a welcoming par 5, and then slowly steps up with a mixture of strong par 3s. Just 10 minutes north of Tampa, this course was carved a 400-acre citrus grove that slopes from west to east, providing interesting elevation changes. Water is in play on 17 of 18 holes. Plantation Palms Golf Club has an attractive framing of greens by the use of pine trees, water and large snow-white sand traps. The true-rolling elevated greens have good movement and are a challenge for golfers.

Good for the Money
Easy simple course. Great value for the money!
Some SUPER RUDE "members", yeah they have a $500 "membership" and they think the world of themselves, lol
I could only seriously laugh!!!
do it again
Always a great challenge to play this course and it's always in excellent shape.
poor customer service
We had a rude staff member by the name of Michael, plantation palms claims to be kid friendly but turns out not to be so. That was and will be the last time I'll play at that course.
Bordering on rude...
I've been to this course several times and regardless of who's working, it has the most unfriendly pro shop staff that I have encountered in 35 years of golf. They act like you're imposing on them. It's too bad, because this could be a great reasonably priced golf experience. I think the pro shop staff is keeping them from moving forward.
Staff has done an excellent job of putting this course back in good condition.
If you played Plantation in the summer or early fall of 2013, you probably found the course in poor condition. Staff has done an excellent job of restoring the greens, removing weeds, repairing bunkers, etc.. It's now again in very good condition. Greens were rolling smooth and quick.
Overall, the course has several challenging holes regardless of the handicap or the tee box. Be sure to check the distance for the second shot on these holes.
Gone Downhill
This course used to be well maintained and in good to very condition. Now it is poorly maintained. The greens are rough and in poor condition. There are several course in the same area that are in better condition and a lot less expensive. Plantation Palms is not worth the $40.00 they charge.
Nice layout, but needs some maintenance
Course was a nice layout, greens were good, but some of the tees the grass was way too high and the fairways were cut but lots of cut grass remained on them.
Course staff needs review in course etiquette.
If I had payed full price for this course I would have been severely disappointed. The course was recently over seeded and as such was incredibly wet even though we had not seen rain in a week. The staff is mediocre at best on 2 different occasions our play was interrupted by the maintenance staff. On the first we were less than 100 yards from the green and they thought it necessary to go ahead and put fertilizer on the green and make us wait to hit even though there was no one behind us The second time was 2 holes later and they mowed the green after they saw us trying to approach the place was dead so I am still puzzled why they couldn't wait or go to another hole.
If you play this course make sure you pay as little as possible.
This course as great layout.
They over seed it the greens the tee block the grass is about 2 inches long. But i will play this course later in the year it agreat layout. The staff are very friendly.
not bad considering greens werent in play
If the greens were in play course would have gotten a better rateing
course has been modified for maintenace.
Former sandtraps have been made into turf bunkers. No drinking water on course. No cart service.
Nice Features!
Much better than I expected from all the conversation I've had with some of my friends that played Plantation Palms in the past months. Greens could have been a little better but otherwise, I thought the course was very nice! Will put them back in my rotation of courses to play;-)
Used to be a beautiful place
Needs lots of work... every drive created a dust cloud when hitting the fairway.
Used to be the nicest course in Land o' Lakes.... not so much.
A convenient and affordable course
The course has received a lot of rain and for the most part handled it well though there were some rough spots.
Poorly maintained and horrible drainage after a minor rain event overnight.
The setup of this course is friendly. Not much water that comes into play (except the soggy fairways). Back nine is definitely tougher than the front. Unfortunately, it seems the staff has let this course go...bunkers had lots of grass in them and fairways were spotty. Greens are basically shot...sandy where they aren't soaked from poor drainage and grass dying all over them. Skip a week of playing, save your money and pay a better course next week.
Hot and Wet
We teed off at 8:20 to try and beat the heat, but that didn't happen. It had rained the night before and the course was still soaked. Cart path only combined with the soggy ground and brutal heat made for some tough conditions. For whatever reason this course doesn't seem to drain very well. It is usually a long, rather challenging course anyways. The greens were not in the best shape either. I have played this course before and liked it, so I will play again, but not till things dry up and I get a good deal.
Amazing Course
Loved the course layout. When dry this course is a 5 Star
Needs Attention
The Tee Boxes were rough as were the greens. Very disappointed.
Fun course
A great course for the price. They even give you a cooler with two bottle of water. Always in good shape, play not the fastest as busy course. Overall great value for money
Fabulous golf course!
Beautiful Golf Course, fabulous layout and very challenging. Lots of undulations, bunkers and water hazards. Although the area had gotten lots and lots of rain, the course was in excellent condition. I would highly recommend it, with one exception. The ranger tried his best to speed up the three horribly slow foursomes in front of our foursome, but was unsuccessful. Total time of play... 5 hours 15 minutes... grueling to take that long.
