Always Accommodating
We're localish. Whether it's the "in" season or summer, the folks here are always pleasant to deal with. They have three 9's and all of them are solid. (Oaks probably being the best). Good value and no complaints. When it's snowbird season expect slower pace of play(obviously).
Thanks so much for the great review, u000005865673. We look forward to welcoming you back to our course soon. Thanks for choosing Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Marsh/Creek Course.
Great day!
Course in great shape, staff very friendly! Left a wedge on course, staff was most helpful with getting it back to me. Pace of play was perfect! Would definitely recommend to friends!

A real treat
This us a VERY nice course and the grounds crew keep it in great condition. Just don’t look for a turn dog in the bar/restaurant.
Emarks2018, thank you for your kind words! We hope to see you again at the course very soon for another 5-star experience. Thanks for choosing Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Marsh/Creek Course.
Fun round, nice layout. Great amenities and practice areas. Will definitely be coming back. Cart girl was very friendly

What happened with Heron Creek?
My review is in my opinion.. First of all can’t understand why you play certain holes 90 degrees and then you get to like #3 on Oaks cart path only all the way to green. After you go out in the right side of the fairway it’s completely dry???for a player in his 80s come on Heron Creek.. need to address this issue! Greens are having their issues too! Fairly new greens…
Thanks so much for the great review, philmichael9. We look forward to welcoming you back to our course soon. Thanks for choosing Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Marsh/Creek Course.
Of Herons and Handicaps: A Tale of Tee Time Trials
I am genuinely crestfallen to recount the avian-inspired escapade my compatriot and I recently weathered upon the golfing terrain. It appears that the esteemed pro shop, in a rather lackluster display of their supposed professionalism, egregiously omitted to alert us of an ongoing tournament that, alas, left our aspirations of navigating the back 9 akin to chasing a wily heron's shadow. The ensuing frustration and disillusionment echoed like the haunting call of the heron itself, as we found ourselves marooned in the shallows of a truncated round, squandering not only a king's ransom of financial feathers but also a significant portion of temporal plumage.
This grievous gaffe, reminiscent of a heron's misstep on uneven ground, casts a pall of ignominy upon the establishment in question. The omission of this pertinent tidbit not only sullies the pro shop's plumage of prestige but also reveals a stark lack of consideration for the patrons who alight upon their fairways with eager anticipation. To have one's recreational dreams take flight only to be ensnared by the brambles of miscommunication and subpar service is a slight that the heron's graceful nature would find difficult to endure.
In the wake of this woeful chapter, one is left to ponder the very essence of hospitality heralded by this establishment. Can it be deemed reasonable for a discerning flock to partake in an experience that is so abruptly truncated, leaving them to roam amidst the thorns of disillusionment and fiscal forfeiture? The bedrock of a commendable establishment hinges upon a transparent horizon, courtesies akin to a heron's poised stance, and a vigilant dissemination of crucial particulars. Alas, these virtues, like the fleeting presence of a heron, appear to have taken wing, carried away by the winds of ineptitude.
Thus, with a heart that weighs heavy, and a duty akin to a watchful heron guarding its nest, I extend this narrative as a humble cautionary note, a veritable squawk of alertness to those who tread the greens of this particular course. Let it be known that the picturesque allure of the landscape is tinged by the shadow cast by service that fails to soar, and the promise of a gratifying golf sojourn may well be replaced with the bitter tang of disappointment, akin to a heron left peckish by elusive prey. In summation, may this account stand as a tribute to the importance of forthrightness and accountability within the realm of customer service, ensuring that others avoid the same nest of disheartening circumstances that befell my companion and me.
We sincerely apologize for the unfortunate experience you and your companion encountered during your recent visit to our course. We deeply regret any frustration and disappointment caused by the lack of communication regarding the ongoing tournament. Thank you for bringing this matter to our attention, and we appreciate your feedback.
Fairways and frustrations; navigating the hazards of inadequate communication
I am genuinely disheartened to recount the woeful experience my friend and I recently endured at the golf course. It appears that the esteemed pro shop, in a lapse of their purported professionalism, egregiously neglected to apprise us of an ongoing tournament that, regrettably, rendered our aspirations of playing the back 9 an implausible reverie. The concomitant frustration and disillusionment that accompanied this revelation were palpable, as we found ourselves relegated to a mere half-round of play, effectively squandering not only a considerable sum of our financial resources but also a substantial portion of our invaluable time.
This grievous oversight, one that smacks of dereliction of duty, casts a pall of disrepute upon the establishment in question. The failure to disclose this pertinent information not only tarnishes the reputation of the pro shop but also bespeaks a lack of consideration for the patrons who grace their premises with eager anticipation. To have one's recreational aspirations dashed against the jagged rocks of miscommunication and subpar customer service is an indignity that ought not to be borne lightly.
In the aftermath of this lamentable episode, one is left to reflect upon the value proposition put forth by the establishment. Is it reasonable to expect a discerning clientele to partake in an experience that is so rudely curtailed, leaving them in a state of disillusionment and pecuniary loss? The very foundation of a reputable establishment hinges upon transparency, courtesy, and the diligent discharge of pertinent information. Alas, these virtues appear to have been sacrificed on the altar of ineptitude.
Thus, with a heavy heart and a sense of duty to fellow enthusiasts of the fair game, I proffer this narrative as a cautionary tale, a veritable missive of warning to those who would tread the greens of this particular course. Let it be known that the beauty of the landscape is marred by the blight of subpar service, and the promise of a satisfying round of golf may well be replaced with the bitter taste of disappointment.
In conclusion, may this account stand as a testament to the importance of forthrightness and accountability in the realm of customer service, lest others fall prey to the same disheartening circumstances that befell my friend and me.

Scenic views on great course
Course has 3 nines so pace of play is very good. Also it’s almost like beating nag at 3 different courses due to layout. Staff were so polite and professional. Lastly, I forgot my rangefinder in cart and before I got home I had a message from course that they had it in pro shop. They certainly wouldn’t have had to do that as it could have (disappeared) anywhere. Very respectful. This course is on the favorite list for me!

Heron Creek
I love this golf complex. Outstanding practice area.
Friendly attentive staff at all levels.
3 nine hole layouts by Arthur Hills.
Challenging but fair . Greens are firm and true and hold well. Good amount of slope and undulation on greens . Mostly raised greens and well guarded by bunkers. Nice sand.
Keep drives in fairway and you can score..
Driving is premium really as there is fairway and there is a shot back to fairway if you happen to find tee shot in the jungle.
It’s fun Florida golf

Great Course!
One of the best courses I've played since moving to Sarasota. Course was in great condition throughout. Greens nearly perfect. Course was both beautiful and provided plenty of challenge. Don't know what their in season rates are, but it sure was a great value for the quality of the course during the summer.

AMAZING
I played this course with my bros today, it was IMMACULATE! The starter, bag boys, front desk, bartender, everybody was so nice. We played the oaks and the creek courses which were both in some of the best shape I’ve ever played. I paid 60 bucks for a first start tee time. Totally worth every penny. I played streamsong and innis brook this past month and I honestly enjoyed playing here almost more than I did when I played at streamsong because I wasn’t thinking about spending 250 bucks to golf! I’ll be returning 1000%! The food was great as well. 10/10 recommend

Tough but fair
Course was in good shape, fairways and tee boxes great, greens okay, and you were punished if you hit in the thicker rough. Would love to go back and play again when the heat index isn’t 115. Other than that, I recommend.

Greens were in great shape, fast and true. Strategically placed bunkers tested your shot making abilities. A ton of fun. Will play again soon.

Good 18 on a Hot Day
Played the Creek and Oaks nines and the Marsh was closed. I had a good outing and enjoyed the round. Upon check-in I was asked to tuck in my shirt which caught me off guard, but was understandable. I had a nice Oakley polo and golf shorts on which were very presentable, but it was odd to have to tuck it in considering that it was 90 plus degrees and being untucked helps with airflow and cooling, but that's ok.
Multiple warm up areas (driving, short game, and putting) was nice. The cart guys also were kind enough to pull a cart up to my vehicle and leave it next to my vehicle as I parked.
The 1st several holes of Creek were nice, but about midway through the fairways were in rough shape with many browned out areas from the drought. Tee boxes as a whole were decent as were the greens, but they were a bit slower than the warm up area greens. The layout of Creeks was nice and it was a trek between holes which I found enjoyable. The trek between holes on Oaks was much shorter and the fairways were in much better shape overall on that nine. We saw the cart girl several times along with the ranger which was nice although we didn't have a need for the ranger.
I had a nice time overall and would recommend the course. The only downside was the condition of some of the fairways on Creek othwrwise I would have rated it higher.
