Heron Creek
We love playing Heron Creek. Course was in great condition. Unfortunately for us we didn't know they had overbooked the course.
Heron Creek rangers are sticklers for pace of play. Well that day they were apologizing because we went off a half hour late-1:34 instead of 1:06-pace was slow waiting on every shot every hole.
Very different from when we normally play there..
We finished with about 10 minutes of light left.

Disappointed
Heron Creek has been my favorite course in the Venice/North Port area for the past 5 years. The price has gone up each year we have been coming down but conditions yesterday were very disappointing. The range was is terrible shape to start the day. The fairways were in poor shape and the pace of play was 5 plus hours🤮.The ranger was out in the Creeks course for the first nine yet still 2.5 hours, perhaps consider spreading groups better across the three nines? No ranger on the Oaks the second nine and pace slowed even more. We allowed a twosome to play through yet the foursome in front of them never allowed them to go through (the foursome had 3 carts and one rider observer). This is unacceptable and where was the ranger? No beverage cart either, 5 hours in 86 degree weather with one water station?? Cmon Heron Creek,you have a great facility that can do much better, we know, we’ve experienced it.

Good course
Foursome in front of use were extremely slow after being asked to speed up play. Ranger never revisited them. There were 2 open holes in front of them. We waited on every tee other foursomes got frustrated and skipped the last 2/3 holes. Slow play frustration resulted in the group hitting into use one ball hitting my wife. A good walk( ride) spoiled.

Heron Creek has great contour and is challenging on any of the 3 - 9 holes it has. It is worth playing.

Heron Creek is great place to play your winter golf. There are 27 holes that very from seriously challenging, to relatively easy. The course conditions are the best you'll find at this price point, in this area. This course does use a heavy dose of water overnight and there are areas where playability suffers due soggy conditions. The greens are in the best shape I've seen this winter, with only a hint grain redirecting your ball off line.

Challenging beautiful course
While the cost to golf Herron Creek this time of the year is hard to swallow, the overall course conditions, layout, and staff friendliness is top notch! Very challenging courses with excellent greens.

Course was in great shape
Course played very difficult.
Strong wind and slick greens made for trying day.
Front 9 was excruciatingly slow.Waited on every T box and on fairways.
Started at 1:30 and didn't think we would finish before dark,but pace picked up on back 9
