Heron Creek Golf and Country Club - Marsh/Creek Course

One of the best courses in the area and I would recommend it to any one of any level..

layout is okay, but greens are ridiculous; need to redo the greens to make them playable. Also, course is rated too low, killing the handicap. value is not very good, staff was not friendly, to put it mildly. Suggest looking for alternatives.

We thoroughly enjoyed the experience at Heron Creek golf course. The staff was especially friendly and the course was in great shape for this time of year. Highly recommend the place!

Rough greens with some patches

Didn’t understand the reason couldn’t use cart paths.

Love the course. It’ll test your skills. The course is well groomed. Lots of wildlife. I’ll play it every time I’m in the area. Great practice facilities.

This course sets up very well regardless of handicap. I played the blues and my friends played the gold and we all had a great time. Course condition was excellent. The staff was amazing. Highly recommend the 19th hole for a cocktail.

The first nine was a death march . The group ahead of us was so deliberate, we waited at almost every tee. We could clearly see the greens ahead that were free and open. First ranger said it was a group ahead of them , don’t think so!

The second ranger that came by helped us out . After letting him know how long it had taken he offer us the opportunity to switch nines. We finished the back in under 2 hours. Thank you sir for saving us from and over 5 hour round.

Everything was pretty much perfect except a ranger noted about the eleventh hole or so that our group was 5 MINUTES behind schedule. Really? Two players never played the course and two played from the white tees and two played from the green tees. Loosen up. When we got to the 18th tee the group in front hadn't teed off yet. They said there was four groups on the 18th hole in front of them. Friends of the ranger?

The THREESOME in front of us played their round in about 5 hours! Our foursome waited on almost every shot once we caught them. The ranger came out twice and was surprised when we said they hadn't speed up at all. He said there was a group not too far in front of them so there wasn't anything he could do, even after he saw there were two groups waiting on the tee of a par 4 for them. There was no group in front of them so the ranger was either confused or wasn't comfortable moving them up. Maybe he knew them as they were members judging by their personal carts.

Certainly a nice course, but conditions were iffy. The overseed grass didnt grow in much on many fairways and wasn't growing - maybe they weren't watering? THe fairways were so short and tight you couldn't really hit wedges into the green. Many greens had been sanded that day, though it was so fine it wasn't too bad. Driving range shuts down 1:30 on Wednesdays, if the pro shop told me i would have hurried out to hit some balls - All I did was warm up and as I was addressing my first ball I was told the range was now closed. Brutal.

Friendly staff enjoyed the practice range and putting green . Course was in great condition and the greens were challenging. We ordered lunch after 9 but wrap was tasty . Great day

Conditions were ideal. Fairways and greens were excellent. Several pin placements were bordering on ridiculous being in the far right over bunkers and deep marsh. #6 on the Creek nine was far back right with a falloff 8 feet behind the pin where no shot into that part of the green could stay on. Either it would run 20 feet off the back or the "safe" shot would land 20 - 30 ,feet left of the pin. My third shot landed in that "safe" area 30 feet away. I hit a perfect putt allowing for the breaks, but it caught the falloff in the back and rolled 15 feet off the green. Took 3 more shots to get up and down. Left the hole feeling cheated.
