Cypress Head Golf Club
About
Cypress Head, an Arthur Hills design, is a blend of holes and styles, a layout of two distinct nines that impress players through different means. At 6,805 yards from the tournament tees, the course is not a beast (there are three alternative sets to choose from).
The first nine is the highlight at Cypress Head. These holes take on a variety of shapes and strategies with little repetition.
It features multi-tiered undulating greens and preserved wetlands with water coming into play on 14 of the 18 holes. The 14th hole is a 478-yard par 4 over water that comes into play off the tee as well as the second shot to the multi tiered green.
The Golf Club also features a lighted driving range and practice facility. Two practice putting greens, a target green and sand bunkers for honing your skills before taking on the challenges of the course
With its' superb conditions and beautiful wetlands setting, Cypress Head is a public club that offers a private and tranquil experience.

Two tone greens! Photo submitted by webelos on 05/15/2014
yes
What a great value for $25. Best turf to hit off of in the entire area. We have played 15 courses in Daytona area and this has the best turf and greens combo and friendliest staff around.
Love this place
Been coming here during race week the last 3 years, and it continues to impress. Played another course in the area two days before, and the greens were in horrible shape, but NOT at Cypress Head. Staff is friendly from the time you pull in until the time you leave. Course was very busy when I arrived, but the pace was never overly slow. Course has a great layout and was even more challenging given the amount of wind. I will be back next year for sure!
Great layout
First time playing here, was quite pleased. Overall conditions were very good. Greens were more consistent than normal and firm. Tees and fairways above average. Pace was slow but being a Sunday afternoon was expected. Would not have recommend this course to high handicap players too much water.
tricky greens
Course has a fair layout with a reasonable amount of water. Water in play on approximately 6 holes. Course could use a ranger to keep the pace of play moving. The greens were very speedy if you were putting down grain.. Typical of Florida greens I am guessing.
Good place to play
Conditions were good for February. A lot of tight lies. Greens were very good and a comfortable speed.
Enjoyable.
Course is in very good shape for this time of year. Fairways cut low. Greens are in good shape. Ponds look low - evidently they have not had much rain recently. Some dormant grass. Enough traps and water, but these hazards are not in play too often.
Nice modern clubhouse is good for a drink & sandwich.
Enjoyable
Good public course. Some tricky holes. Some plain holes. Water on 16 of 18 holes with some long carries . Pretty good greens.
nice layout, needs maintenance
Very nice layout through subdivision. Houses do no come into play. Lots of dormant Bermuda, with a touch of overseeing. With a few more maintenance dollars for fertilizer, this could be a very good course. Greens are relatively new, true rolling of putts, but extremely firm for approaching. Overall, worth the trip. Will play again.
Was paired up with 2 guys fro KY, Had a great time.
Would play again.
Course challenging but fair, greens in great shape.
They have a scramble every Wed at 3pm men/women
none
The course was in excellent shape. As always, holes 2 and 3 are difficult for me. The pace of play was much better this time from when we played the course two years ago. You have got to pay attention to your handicap and what tee box you are playing. Jim
An Arthur Hills Gem
Great course & well maintained. Greens were reseeded a couple years ago. They rand true,, consistent and quick
Even with a lot of water, this course was more then playable with set up shots. Greens played true. A nice afternoon of golf!
This course has great people working at it.
The staff that great you at this course are great. The only problem with the course is there is not card person on the course.
Excellent, but tough fast greens and lots of water hazards.
Very excellent condition. Greens are tough, fast, and difficult. Fairways are hard with forgiving roll, but difficult to hit clean shots. Too many water hazards and easy to lose balls - risk vrs. reward.
Great course that rewards good shots
I played Cypress Head for the first time the other day, and I found the course to be very interesting and challenging. Apart from a few quirky holes, I found it to be a nice layout. It definitely helped to play with some folks that had played the course previously because the landing area for tee shots is very important to setup the rest of the hole. The greens were a bit too firm and did not receive approach shots well. However, you could run the ball up to the pin on most of the holes. The speed of the greens was pretty consistent (fast), but they are very difficult because of the contours. Though I didn't play particularly well, I liked the course and plan on playing it again.
Nice layout for price
Gracious amount of water and sand to make it a "shotmakers" course. Well groomed ...greens, fairways and tee boxes very nice. All-in-all it was a fun day
