Cypress Head Golf Club
About
Cypress Head, an Arthur Hills design, is a blend of holes and styles, a layout of two distinct nines that impress players through different means. At 6,805 yards from the tournament tees, the course is not a beast (there are three alternative sets to choose from).
The first nine is the highlight at Cypress Head. These holes take on a variety of shapes and strategies with little repetition.
It features multi-tiered undulating greens and preserved wetlands with water coming into play on 14 of the 18 holes. The 14th hole is a 478-yard par 4 over water that comes into play off the tee as well as the second shot to the multi tiered green.
The Golf Club also features a lighted driving range and practice facility. Two practice putting greens, a target green and sand bunkers for honing your skills before taking on the challenges of the course
With its' superb conditions and beautiful wetlands setting, Cypress Head is a public club that offers a private and tranquil experience.

Excellent Value
Close to Daytona Beach Resorts, excellent condition and friendly staff and good food, they have the ehole package here eith a challenging layout ...
Great features
Course has two par 5 and par 3 back to back very nice
Cypress Head
Pleasant day golfing this course. Some strange holes but overall a good day
one of the best around
We played here earlier in the year and liked it.The greens were a little slow. Now they have good speed and the course is in great shape. We wish it was a little closer so we could play it more often. One of the best public courses around!
Slow and slower
Thought an afternoon tee time would pose no problems. Wrong. Behind 2 threesome that were brutally slow. Packed it in after 9 holes. Scottish golf it was not.
Nice course
Real nice course, but a lot of waiting, still I'll play often due to course conditions and fun of play.
Excellent
We went through a hurricane and the course management has done and excellent job of bringing the course back to excellent condition
Good public course
Fairways in good shape. Greens extremely firm and a little bumpey but putted ok. Rough around greens spotty in places. Had a tourney in morning, had several tucked pins. Had many blue tees close to or even with black. Played long. Part three's are very challenging.
Really Nice
Everything comfortable as I showed with my ratings. Great place to be and play
Can be tough
Bring your "A" game for this somewhat challenging layout. Many forced carries and planned landing areas that you cannot miss. Shot maker's paradise (my "A" game stayed in the trunk of my car). New superintendant has plans to make it "easier" by widening the fairways. Rough was brutal and you had to hack it out.
But the condition of the course was terrific. Only downside is we caught up with a 5-some that just shoudl not be allowed on any course. This dramatically slowed our round.
Best Kept Secret in Volusia County
I'm not sure if the City if Port Orange still owns and manages this course, but what a Gem it is!
I love playing this course and would highly recommend to all.
Would love to replay this course
11:03 tee time w/ wife for $20.24/ea thru Golfnow. Fun & challenging course in subdivision setting that is in great condition. Pro shop set in large Clubhouse. Has a nice driving range & large practice putting green. Tee boxes, fairways, & green plush. Greens rolling true & fast. Battery powered carts w/ windshield & rain cover in back. Worth the 1.5 hour drive. Food @ restaurant not that great.
Worth the drive from ahywhere
From the bag drop to cashier to the course marshal, all were as genuinely friendly as can be. The course is in wonderful shape, a bit dry, but everything is still green. The greens roll at a good pace & roll true. Lots of water on this course so you do have to make shots, but also has options if you can't take on the hazards. I live 30 miles away but this just might become my home course, it's really a good course.
Awesome
Awesome course conditions!!!
Excellent course
The course was in great shape. Greens and some of the best around
Good value, great time
Great round minus the heat...101 on the heat index. Made it around as a single in 2:40. Layout is challenging and there is significant distance difference between white and blue tees. Fun course.
Last Time
Golf Course looked excellent from a distance. Played on a Sunday one week after last rain. Fairways and roughs were not cut. Greens were punched 3 weeks prior and were not cut and (extremely), disappointingly slow. New greens, old greens, doesn't matter. Whom ever is controlling course conditions is always full of excuses. Many other courses in the area have replaced their greens and all is well. If your putting from over 20 feet, bring your wedge.
In the top 4 for Daytona FL
Nice challenge from the blue tees. water hazards, and bunkers line most fairways, but still more of a grip and rip course with some target golf shots from the tee boxes. The greens were recently aerated but it is to be expected from courses in this area at this time of year. Well worth the price and I was paired up with a pleasant golfer who also enjoyed the course. I heard they recently renovated the greens and the approach shots will run on the greens, I could not tell because of them being aerated.
Very nice course
I really like the course. Good lay out, nice staff, well maintained. I knew going in that the greens were aerated so I figured it was going to be bumpy and slow but wow were they bumpy and slow. They still use the big plugs for aeration. I get spoiled were i come from they use the micro plugs and use fine sand to fill in. The sand they used here was corse and made it very very bumpy. Just manage expectations and it is a fun course to play. Good for the bomber as it is pretty open. Looking forward to playing again.
Top 3 in Volusia County
I liked it so much yesterday, I played it again today. Great layout, greens, overall condition. Lot of room off the fairways for recovery shots, nice par 5's. Only drawback is #16 a 75 yard par 3. Would rank behind LPGA hills course and Halifax plantation. The course seems empty weekday after noon. We'll be back soon.
