About
This Treasure Coast golfing jewel embraces the traditional values of golf course architecture emphasizing shot value, variety and dramatic effect. Meandering through an 800 home residential community, St James offers 4 sets of tees for individual playing ability and a challenging round for all levels. The 6800 yard, par 72 design features 64 dramatic bunkers and 17 water hazards. The club also offers a state-of-the-art practice facility, with natural grass tee, simulated fairway bunker and dedicated short game area with putting green.

Always a good time.
We usually go off early (before 8) so the pace is always good. The fairways were in good shape. There were a few spots on the greens. But, overall a really good found for a great price. The staff is always nice and helpful.

Hot! Hot! Hot!
We can't control Mother Nature. We can only deal with what she hands us. Blistering hot! The course had a few moist spots, after some previous night's rain, but overall decent. Greens were the best I've played at anywhere recently, from Viera to Port St. Lucie. Nice staff! Facility provides free ice.

Have come a long long way
Played St. James om Friday. I am a regular at St. James and I am very honest and straight forward with my reviews. I play all over from Broward County up to Duval County in Jacksonville but live in PSL. ST. James has come a long long way. Staff is wonderful. Friendly and courteous. Pace of play at this time of year is unbeatable as its to hot for most. Tee boxes need some attention but an easy fix. They are beat up and need care. Fairways use to be bald and pretty much shaved. This Friday was like playing another course. The fairways are now 8 out of 10 as to before they were a 5 out of 10. They are soft and have grass. Totally surprised at how nice they were. Greens are almost always beautiful here. Fast and roll true. Very nice greens. St. James has a fun and cool layout. Fun course and in very good shape. Absolute must play

Friendly Staff, Course needs work
I’ve played this course about five times, but this is the first in three years. I figured I’d try it for a change of pace to my regular courses in the Vero area. Like i said in the title, staff is great and very accommodating. But the course is rough. Fairways are missing grass and most shots hit from the fairway feel like hitting from the first cut of rough. There were bald spots and yellow grass in lots of areas on the fairways. Tee boxes were not good at all. Bumpy, not enough grass and not cut low so putting the tee in the ground you’d have grass about as high as the tee at times. Greens were ok. I hate being hard on a course, but for a comparable price I can play Sandridge in Vero and it’s a far superior course that’s kept in fantastic shape all around. I won’t be back, I didn’t even finish 18 holes because I was so disappointed in the conditions.

Very good shape
As always the greens at St. James are running fast and true. The fairways and ruff are in good shape, some of the tee boxes are in need of fixing. I can’t speak to the bunkers as I didn’t have to play from any. This is one of the best courses in the area for the money and they aren’t aerating until the end of July- begin of August. I’m going to try and play as much there until then.
