Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

Slow play

Played this course yesterday with my wife and brother. There were singles behind foursomes, twosomes followed by another twosome following a single. No Marshall on the course. Our tee time was 1:50. Quit at 5:00 pm after playing 9 holes. Will never go back. Tom T.

Windy weather
Used cart

Had higher expectations I guess

Got to clubhouse early lunch started at 11:00 and couldn’t order at 10:57 not eleven yet. Pro shop kid couldn’t look away from tv long enough to care. Cart girl was friendly and frankly excellent. Champions course was decent overall. When finished at 3:15 clubhouse and restaurant closed which was very odd. No parting drink or washroom available, just kids at the cart barn cleaning. Overall probably would suggest staying in Palm Springs rather than venturing out.

Nice coarse in calmer winds

The greens and fairways were in good shape… But the bunkers definitely were some of the worst I’ve seen in a while. Overall, it’s a great layout and a challenging track. Since I’ve never played it before, I don’t know how windy it is all the time, but that definitely affects the game, particularly here!

Course Layout

The champions course is a great layout. Not a weak hole on the course compared to the Legends course. Played Legends last week but the Champions course is much better in my opinion. Would definitely play it again.

Champions course

First time playing champions, played legends a few times they said it was tougher and were right. Course was in great condition greens were undulating and fast- especially with a 20 mile an hour wind, lots of bunkers. Would recommend this course to everyone. A+

Bunkers need some work. Pro shop staff stated it’s in the mix. All staff were amazing. Downfall I played the next day (Saturday) way different experience no marshal and multiple groups that were not keeping pace of play.

No marshall

Good layout, but conditions were shabby. EXTREMELY SLOW!!!! It took 4.5 hours to play 14 holes. I quit after that. On the 12th hole (a par 4) there were 4 groups on the tee box. Many people were quitting because it was so slow. There was no marshall, and the pro shop wouldn't answer phone calls. It would have been a 6 hour found if I continued to play. INEXSCUSEABLE!!

Pace was rough

By no means am I an experienced golfer however, this was my first time playing the champions course and on every tee box I was waiting 5 to 10 minutes for the group in front of me. The overall course was average in my opinion and not worth the higher cost. The course layout was challenging but forgiving. I would still recommend this course to friends, but would encourage them to find deals, it is not worth the $100.

Beyond Slow

Liked the layout. Some of the pins perched on the edge w/ runoff behind don't give you much of a makable look. The pace of play gives it a 1 star though. 3 groups on every tee and no marshall seen all day. Bunkers were concrete including mixed agregate. Clubhouse locked before sundown therefore, no bathroom break before the drive home after the $7 dollar gatoraide.

Don’t play here

Teed off 5 hours before sunset on a monday, wasn’t close to finishing. Terrible pace and no marshal to be see. Bunkers also are basically made of gravel. Not worth it at all

Overrated and Awful Customer Service - Avoid!

Course was in bad shape, all greens played differently because of how they were cut. Course was very wet yet rates are too high for this time of year course condition.

The main problem I had on this visit? I paid $328 for my wife, myself and my in-laws to play a round.

My 71 year-old mother-in-law got tired after the first 9 and decided to sit the 2nd 9 out as the rain had picked back up and temps were around 50 degrees.

The course informed her as she was getting a meal in the bar that they were closing the course and she would not be able to stay in the warm building and they would kick her out.

I drove back up to clubhouse and found her out in the cold, I put her into the car and turned the heat on.

Absolutely pathetic customer service, it’s very clear that Management only cares about how many people they are paying to be there and not the customer.

Best part? There were still many staff on-hand until the end of our round despite them deciding to close right after we made the turn.

I will never, and I mean ever play at this course again.

Bad Pace

Been coming here for a while. Usually decent, bunkers are unplayable but that’s expected at this point. Love the layout though. This round just played… terrible. Backed up by 3 groups on every tee box. Can’t believe I just payed $100 to wait around on every shot. The course knows this is happening and still has the audacity to charge full price. I would like my money back lol. *keep in mind, already waited for 2 groups before I took the picture.
