Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

Great round

The course was in great condition and no one in front of us. Finished in about 3 hrs. The only thing that needs to be fixed are the bunkers. No sand, just dirt and too many little rocks.

We ask a lot from our courses. For $35 twilight WITH GPS cart, I think this course delivers a lot. Greens rolled true and fairways in good shape.

Appreciate that the range was off grass —prepares you so much better than a mat. My home courses will scold you if you take one swipe in front of the mats. It’s $ and effort to provide a grass range. Range balls were a bit of a hodge podge but no biggie.

Challenging but fair layout. Bring plenty of balls. You won’t find them if you hook or slice. (I think most of the negative reviews are from people who lost a bunch of balls! 😂)

It’s true the bunkers are a mess. All rocks. Just take a free drop on the grass. Don’t ruin your wedges)

Value for dollar though...definitely recommend and would come back.

Good, but...

First time playing here. It was a beautiful course with a lot of challenging points. This was also my first time playing with a cart like this (monitor built in). Pros - was easy to navigate where to go and how far you were from the flag. Cons - it literally makes the cart stop moving when to the restricted areas. The issue I had with that was it didn't show where the restricted area was, so I didn't know until I reached it. Honestly, the restricted areas were far larger than anticipated. Maybe I just needed to spend some time figuring out how to use it, but it would be nice if it showed a red area or something on the screen provided. Other than that, this is a beautiful long course, with a ton of sand traps. I mean, they are everywhere.

So much potential

Played the Legend course, it’s a great layout, lots of blind shots from the tee and approaches to the green. Heavily bunkered. The issue is lack of maintenance from tee box thru the green. The bunkers are a mix of sand and clay. Use your putter for any hope. Not worth the drive even at $50. However, the potential is enormous

Morongo Golf Course

They need to update their statements about the Golf Course, the restaurant is not open all week long, they haven't held any tournaments of any caliber for years, they haven't repaired any of the bridges washed out years ago, the grass around the greens isn't maintained compared to other courses like Oak Valley, The second Par 3 on Champions is a disgrace to play. Why they can't plant grass on the fairway shows just how little they've done to bring this course up to standards. Don't even get me started on Legends. Soboba gold course is 10X's better than the Morongo course. Don't waste your time if you haven't ever played here. For 5 years they haven't added sand to the bunkers. Fix the course's and serve your community. Spend some money on it. They should of never sold it to the Tribe. Seems like all they wanted were the water rights.
