Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

Terrible Pace of play

Everything is perfect with this place except for the same issue everywhere pace of play. We teed off at 1230am and did not get to finish 18 holes. Had to bring the carts in at 6pm. Every hole had 2-3 foursomes waiting. So if you play here on a weekend better book it for early am.

Quality of course lower than previously

Greens are in good condition. Rest of the course is not as good as when I played back in the 2000's. Need sand in the traps, not dirt and rocks.

Can't recommend this course!

Too many bunkers, almost all of them deep & dirt, not sand, not maintained and often on both side of fairways and green approaches. Consequences are slow play and just NOT a lot of fun to play. Low cost of round was the only grace of this golf course.

cold weather aside...

I actually think this is a wonderful track, yet so poorly maintained it made it less than wonderful. Cart gal went home for the day at 10:30 AM, our tee time...11:15. Club house locked up tight as a drum when we finished our round....yes it was still day light....would love to play again when the course was shown a little tender loving care...

Dreadful pace of play

I have played this course on numerous occasions, and usually it’s a fun day on a good quality course.

However, on this occasion, we had a group of Korean golfers in front of us. For most of the first time they had about five players, all playing multiple balls.

The sad thing is the starter knew that they were going to be slow and amazingly mentioned to hit up on them if this were the case.

The worst thing on the planet for all golfers is a round that takes perhaps five hours, where virtually every shot requires waiting of 5 minutes and where the group in front does not allow you or ask you to play through especially when they have no one in front. We could’ve just driven past them, but why when we have paid to play 18 holes?

The management at Morongo need a rocket to make sure this doesn’t happen, because even though we know they make good money from Korean golfers / students coming to play there, it disappoints locals, who just want to play a relaxing

round of golf.

Not once did we see in Marshall.

Get your act together Morongo Golf Course Management.

Not what it use to be

This course use to be a gem when the PGA owned it and I played often. That is far from the case now since Morongo bought it. . The driving range didn't have hardly any grass. Mostly dirt and the balls were old and dead. They had some rain many days before our round and ALL of the bunkers still had lakes in them. Our group of 4 lost 5 balls in the traps because we couldn't see the balls in the muddy water and couldn't fish them out with rakes. Grass areas around the traps are in poor condition. The courses have been greatly neglected for a long time and are in some of the worst shape for a golf course that I have ever seen. Fairways are in rough shape with some good areas but a lot of poor areas. I would not go back to this course in the shape it is in now. It's not worth the money and the pace of play was slow. Way to go Morongo.
