About
Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

Downhill
I golfed this property around 2016 -- it was spectacular. Yesterday I did not recognize it. I wanted to support my native american friends but was disappointed with the quality of the fairways and greens. I hope they put some TLC and $ into the resort.

Hoping for better
The course was definitely challenging but the bunkers were more military bunkers than golf bunkers, virtually no sand at all in them.
There were very hard to hit out of them if you were unlucky to get into one…or three. Basically the bunkers seemed like large holes in the ground waiting for sand or pool plaster.
I did like the layout which offered some driving options on a few holes.
The tee boxes, fairways and greens were in good shape.
Btw, I played the Champions course.

Course in decent shape. But very windy day. Best to check wind conditions. Before hand.

Terrible Pace of play
Everything is perfect with this place except for the same issue everywhere pace of play. We teed off at 1230am and did not get to finish 18 holes. Had to bring the carts in at 6pm. Every hole had 2-3 foursomes waiting. So if you play here on a weekend better book it for early am.

Quality of course lower than previously
Greens are in good condition. Rest of the course is not as good as when I played back in the 2000's. Need sand in the traps, not dirt and rocks.

Everything was fine except too many single's or twosome's. They should be grouped together to at least threesome's.

Can't recommend this course!
Too many bunkers, almost all of them deep & dirt, not sand, not maintained and often on both side of fairways and green approaches. Consequences are slow play and just NOT a lot of fun to play. Low cost of round was the only grace of this golf course.

cold weather aside...
I actually think this is a wonderful track, yet so poorly maintained it made it less than wonderful. Cart gal went home for the day at 10:30 AM, our tee time...11:15. Club house locked up tight as a drum when we finished our round....yes it was still day light....would love to play again when the course was shown a little tender loving care...
