Situated amongst the foothills of the San Gorgonio and San Jacinto Mountains, Morongo Golf Club at Tukwet Canyon boasts 36 holes of scenic championship golf. The two courses, the Champions and the Legends, are some of the area's most popular. The older Champions Course is host to the PGA Tour Q-School and it is a Nationwide Tour Qualifier. It is such a popular tournament location that it is known as the "home of the Southern California PGA." The Champions is a challenging but playable layout with tight fairways and numerous steep-lipped bunkers strategically placed throughout. There is also thick, treacherous rough that will swallow any errant shots. Also included in your tee time is unlimited use of the practice facilities, which include an all-grass driving range as well as chipping and putting greens.

What Amenities

The greens were the only thing that I can say anything positive about. The practice area was the absolute worst I have ever seen in 32 years of playing golf. It was drizzling almost the entire round and the place has no coffee, snacks, food service, other than the cart person, and she didn't have any coffee or snacks or food of any kind other then cookies..

I used to play this course a few years back and was looking forward in a good breakfast or lunch after the round. I will not be back.

No investment by Morongo

Course is in terrible condition. Tee boxes, fairways and bunkers were in terrible shape. Greens were OK. There was a beverage cart that we saw once. Large clubhouse has nothing to offer other than restrooms. Limited food and beverage offerings Fri- Sunday only. Clearly Morongo is not investing in the golf course. Very disappointing.

But Don't You Go

Course in pretty good shape. Great for winter.

Price reasonable. Got in 14 holes before dark.

Some slow play-no marshalls out.

I'll play again- but don't you go.

Great course but bad pace

Played on 11/20 Sunday around 11am. Great course layout with reasonable challenges. However, the pace was bad. When we finished Hole#2, it jammed up to 4 groups of players stuck around Hole#3 tee box area. Did not see marshal to push the pace. It took us about 5 hours and 35 minutes to finish the round.

Way too tough for amateurs

Fairways were rather poor for the money. Greens were good. A course designed for professionals; we wanted to play LEGENDS, but for some reason, not explained, you had closed it.

If you’re looking for a review to avoid wasting money, here you go.

This course is unplayable. The course itself is completely trashed and is left un managed.

The proshop is unresponsive and could care less if you enjoy your time. Clearly they are letting the course fail to eventually build homes and it’s very sad for such a good layout. The pace of play was awful. Took us more than 5 hours to complete a round. The bunkers were almost as hard as the cart paths. Huge bald spots in the middle of the fairways.

The owner of this course has nerve to even charge for it. The bar at the pro shop closes at 4 to better demonstrate how much the golfers matter.

Cold and Windy

I played with my Girl and it was cold and windy. Should have stayed home. 50mph winds moved putts on the greens and made drives balloon and travel on 50 yards in front of me when I normally hit it 250. It was a struggle but the course was in good shape and the pace of play was good. Hate that they send singles out who always want to jump in front of you and end up making you wait.
