Indian River Preserve Golf Club

Always nice to play here, nice layout, mixture of grip and rip and target holes. Tee boxes in rough shape but greens more than make up for it. Great practice facility, definately use putting area before round.

Course was packed from a frost delay in the morning. had an 11:48 tee time. got off late and played a 5 hour plus round. Not very good having to wait at every hole. Course was in good shape for early February. Bunkers need more sand in them, especially around the green. Overall a nice course to play.

I was looking forward to playing here again as I hadn't played it in 5 years. It's what I remembered. There is one challenge after the other.

Played from the blue tees on most holes. Three holes from the white tees. Made it a manageable round. Course gives you a little bit of everything. Greens were consistent. Will go back.

Great variety of holes. Strategic, well-maintained bunkers. Greens a little slow, but a good stroke make ball roll out ok. Fairways not pristine, but very playable. Staff excellent. Very busy but good for them. If you are in the area, play it. You will not be disappointed.

The course is a nice layout, and the conditions have improved in the past year. However, they had overbooked the course and we saw and heard irate customers at several points during the round. They had a scrambled which had engulfed the course. They should have not taken our tee time as we had to wait a considerable amount of time. They started us on the back and when we came around the front we lost our place because a group went in to get something to eat, and then jumped in front of us. In response to our complaints they just said that it would clear up soon when the scramble cleared out.

Since the Billy Casper organization has taken over this course, they have put time, money and expert quality of staff, chef and maintenance crews into making this one of the best courses in this State in my humble opinion! Someone imagined this course had so much potential and took that to heart creating a fabulous design, layout and surrounding beauty. We have been playing this course since 2008 but it was no where near this top notch quality that it has become. The clubhouse is simply gorgeous as well as restroom facilities, carts, teaching facilities, putting greens and what a fantastic staff. This course is the diamond of courses on the Space Coast. There is nothing that compares locally. The rates are unbelievable this time of year when then snowbirds come. Most places in the area become unaffordable to locals that support courses throughout the year. Walkabout has not fallen prey to those rates. If you haven't played, put this course on your list. You won't be disappointed.

Greens and traps are in above average condition. Fairways are in below average condition. Would play course more often if closer to home

I have not played the course since the clubhouse was completed and turned out to be spectacular, very nice. The course was in good shape, but with just a few improvements could be great. This course has such potential, but I will definitely return to see if it can get there.

Overall nice course few patchy spots around greens and in fairways very fast greens tough course when windy seems like all holes played into wind.

Worth the drive. Great variety of holes. Definitely not your average Florida course. A must play at a reasonable price. We had a great time. Played it in December, so conditions were not spectacular, but excellent. I can't wait to go back.

Hadn't been there since they finished the new clubhouse, it is really nice. Course was in great shape, staff was very friendly

We had heard this course was unique but most of the holes were just average. GREENS OK BUT KIND OF SLOW. The course needs some work. For what we paid we were OK with it but won't come back.

Very nice day full sun no wind. Start on time, no waithing , course on exellent condition, This course getting better and better. 19 hole was very welcome the staff make it better.

I'm a 7 handicap and really found many holes difficult . If u miss a little right or left , ur in water or woods , don't get me wrong , great layout , not 4 hackers, will be miserable

Didnt know about Walkabout until heard someone talking it up at the pool at our rental.....Very pleased with the course as it is in good condition, friendly staff, very receptive greens and a nice track with many tee options.....Will make this my regular course when visiting............

This course is a very nice layout, with challenges on almost every hole. Local knowledge would go a long way regarding approach shots, as the greens are fast and undulating (read: there will be times you aim away from the flag).
This course gets my recommendation because of the above. However, the condition of tee boxes and fairways have this course bordering on unplayable. The attached picture is a tee box on a par 3 with all carry over water. Sure enough, my feet slipped and I dunked it, taking a double. I can do that on my own! I don't need poor conditions dictating my score! There were a few other similar tee boxes, and there are parts of many fairways and rough that simply need to be re-sodded.

We liked this course a lot. Great layout, great holes! Conditions'...a few bumps and bruises', but overall fantastic!!! Not sure why we 3 putted a lot.... tough greens I believe, but they hold so nicely. Our scores weren't great but this course is. A GPS or some kind of course assistance/knowledge would have been very helpful on this course...

First time playing the course and wish I had time to go back and play it again. Will do the next time I am in town. The course was in very good shape and really enjoyed playing it. There are some easy holes and also some very hard holes. I would recommend anyone in this area to stop by and play the course.

Course was so much fun to play. It has a few challenging holes and some wide open fairways. This will definitely be one of my regular spots!
