About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Franken Course
Played a round yesterday morning. 1st time playing it. Good elevation changes make it challenging. The front 9 was in decent condition, but when you make the turn for the back 9, it was night and day compared to the front 9. Patchy areas, mix match of grass and weeds on fairways, green weren't too bad. But the back 9 needs lots of love.

Course can be challenging on several holes.

Golf Course?
I decided to play Eagle Dunes yesterday based upon a favorable rate that was being offered.
I was hoping the course conditions would have improved since the last tme playing it, but unfortunately, the conditions have worsened. I thought I'd need to go see a chiropractor after the round due to all the ruts and uneven ground everywhere. The greens have always been good here, albeit they were a little slow. As mentioned, and others have as well, the fairways, if you can call them fairways, are just terrible -- bare spots, weeds, bunkers that are washed out.
The course was advertising on the carts as to their 20th anniverary and golfing deals --- one would think that after 20 years, they would have learned how to maintain the fairways.
Advice is: save your money and go somewhere else locally -- the Mount Dora Golf Course, a muni, is actually years ahead of Eagle Dunes when it comes to course maintenance.

Found a hot deal late morning...went out as a single. Greens I'm good shape. Random grasses of varying lengths along rough although fairways were in good shape. Had a good time.

What a shame
I’m so disappointed in the golf course ! It used to be the best kept course in the area , times have changed ! The fairways and tee boxes are like playing in my yard ! The greens were almost all good but I’m staying away for a long time
There was even a watermelon growing in the fairway of hole 14 !lol I truly hope they can recover this course it was always a favorite

Needs Some Work
Fun course, but in pretty poor condition tee to green. The greens themselves are in fairly good shape though. The pace of play was great and our foursome made it through in about 3 1/2 hours. Driving range is okay, and there’s a nice chipping area hidden away. The putting green is a bit on the small size and only has 2 holes cut in, but is in good condition. The clubhouse is pretty limited and feels like it belongs on a much smaller course. There’s nothing wrong with that, but it was a bit surprising. The staff were all friendly and attentive. I would recommend the course, but with a big warning about the fairway conditions which are very bad.

Bad fairways and ruff
This course is basically a cow pasture...... it's funny though because the greens are actually in great shape so....Whoever is taking care of the greens they need to put the time and money into the rest of the course.
I really hope they get this course on track because it has a great layout and it's super close to me but.... it's so bad right now it takes the fun out of playing.....
This place is a double wide trailer, with bad, dying grass out back to feed livestock.
They call it a golf course.

Awful, in every way.
Worse every month, and the staff are basically asleep. The whole place has a really pronounced redneck vibe. This is a 30HC member golf cart "Chrome oversized wheels of course, dogs also onboard).. Seriously, Stay away..
If you pay the rates they charge, oh well...

Always better than working
Staff was great, greens were in good shape a bit fast. Fairways were very rough, but still a nice challenging course.

Augusta Greens/Goat Farm Fairways
Played here over a year ago and had a blast so I decided I would give it another shot. All of the staff is extremely friendly and honest with how course conditions are. The course layout is phenomenal. Driving range is mediocre as most courses around don’t have the nicest. The chipping and putting practice areas are phenomenal. The tee boxes are manageable so nothing to complain about here. The greens are easily some of the nicest I’ve ever played on in my life and I’ve played some $200 rounds. The fairways… o.m.g….. it is an absolute task to find decent grass to hit off of. Chances are, you’re better off playing from the rough where it is rarely mowed. The fairways are the main reason I will likely never return here. I played from the tips and when you play a 562 yard par 5, it is extremely hard to make appropriate approach shots when your ball is in the middle of the “fairway” and its sitting on weed roots and hard packed dirt. Honest opinion, I wouldn’t play here for more than $20. The greens are the only memorable part of the course.

Sorrento Secret
Outstanding golf course! Beautiful gem with a fun and challenging layout. The tee boxes play long and the greens roll fast. The staff is courteous, friendly, and all have a fantastic sense of humor. With great service, and communication you couldn’t ask for a better course to play! I always look forward to playing here as they make you feel like family. If I could give them 10 stars I would!
