About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Terrible
Basically no fairways. You will get bumped right off your cart because it’s so bumpy. Terrible
I can verify this is 100% true. the course is an actual disgrace. Im surprised the staff is not more embarrassed to basically steal peoples money at the crazy rates they charge.
Its a goat track from start to finish, period.
Its been this way for years, and it will NEVER change.
Even the staff replies to the reviews are nothing more than copy/paste answers. they could care less as long as they get paid.

The fairways are 50-50, some are in fair shape,
others are quite rough. The greens are in good shape. Play if you get a good discountq

Great greens but fairways in poor condition.
I really like this course. The layout is really good and interesting. It is not a typical flat Flordia course. Greens are in really nice shape and roll medium fast. But fairway conditions are dodgy. Not sure why, but seems like all Sorrento courses are in a similar state. I hope for better in the future, but I really like this course.

Greens are in good shape. Fairways and bunkers are struggling. Fairways have very large patches where there is no grass and bunkers have weeds growing in just about every one.

Greens great as usual. Rest of course sucks. Cow pasture. U must be crazy charging 35 bucks. 20 bucks at best. Disappointed with golf now.

Not a 4 star course
I rarely leave negative reviews. This isn’t a hit piece but more of a fair warning. When I see a four star course, I have a certain set of expectations based off of other similar rated courses. This is not a four-star course. The fairways are really poor and full of weeds and mixed grasses. The layout is not marked very clear for first time players. We rented clubs and they honestly had to be from the early 2000s and had hundreds of rounds of golf on them. If this would have been a three star course, I would’ve went in with different expectations. The greens and staff were the only 4 star part.

I played this course many years ago and it was a top contender in the area.
Greens are in great shape.
Fairways have suffered and now show unfavorable conditions.

Why?
Normally a good day of golf at Dunes, not this time. Arrived a bit early, drive was faster than normal, tee time 10:56, was at 1st tee about 10:30, no one waiting to tee off. Starter comes up, asks my time tells me paired up with 2 others that are not here yet, I have to wait for them. But tee is open and no one in line, doesn't matter you have to wait. OK not big deal, I wait. Between 10:30 and 10:56 only 2 groups tee off and then when the 2 I'm paired with show up late he tells me to move my bag to one of their carts instead of them riding together. Enough, I left and will spend my $ elsewhere. If there's open tee times and it's not busy why make plyers wait?

My favorite course
Course conditions are a little rough around the edges but does not impact playability. Layout is one of a kind in Florida. Elevation changes, downhill shots, uphill shots, everything is there to make your round interesting. The people that work there are great. I mean really great and they make the experience even better. They are worth the drive no matter where you are coming from. Give them a try.

Great layout
Started playing this course shortly after it opened 20 years ago. A great staff that always makes you feel welcome, a challenging yet fair layout, as well as some of the best greens in Central Florida, have always made this one of my favorite courses in the area.
