About
Eagle Dunes Golf Club in Sorrento sprawls across rolling elevation changes that aren't typically found on central Florida courses. The course also claims to have the area's truest putting surfaces. The layout stretches to just over 7,024 yards from the back tees. Long hitters will be pleased about the opportunity to grip it and rip it but ball placement is an important factor. The golf course is punishing even if you're only slightly errant. The vast sand traps seem like you're playing across a desert and the occasional water hazard comes into play as well. The wide, player-friendly fairways help to balance the challenges of the golf course. Since opening in 2003, Eagle Dunes Golf Club has garnered a strong following amongst locals and has earned the distinction of being one of Gold Digest's "Best Places to Play."

Love most of it
I like everything about this course. It has some easy holes and has some hard holes. The one complaint I have is that the first three par 3s are the exact same distance. Besides that I have nothing bad to say.
Links Style Course
Pace of play was average for the busy season. Staff was friendly and the starter was a hoot.
Greens rolled true and fast…tee boxes were good. Fairways you’ll play off from tight lie’s most times unless you play winter rules.
All in all, fun track that will challenge you if you dare.

Eagle Dunes has always had great greens, challenging elevation changes, and entertaining hole designs. But now they have thankfully mowed and cut down many of the dense rough areas so that it is easier to find wayward balls. Thank you! We will continue to play here and tell folks about it!

Starter
Starter was challenged in the head to say the least. Made me ride with someone I did not know. Go ahead and get shut down because you think ur saving a buck on cart gas. Shut down you won't make a dime. Why pis people off?? Get it together Eagle Dunes and stop sending people out on top of each other and cut the grass. Driving range is pitiful.

Be aware
Like this course but today the black dude inside and the starter outside are some fools. Be aware they make u ride with ppl u don't know if you come alone. And I got sick! Want COVID or a lawsuit this is the place to be.

Nice Greens
Eagle Dunes is in good condition. I would rate it even higher if attention to the rough areas along the fairways was addressed. Holes 1, 9, 10, 12, 13, 14, 15, 17 and 18 are rough riding in the cart. This can make for unnecessary and unintended difficult lies in the fairway. Fix that and the course would be the best course in the area. The greens make it a pleasure to play. Quick and true.

Greens fast and true. Fairways plus/minus. Rough minimal.

First Impressions
My first impression of the course was it looked challenging. In the end, it was very challenging (based on my poor performance as I think there wasn’t a hazard I didn’t find). I think it’s a nice layout and the condition of the course isn’t exceptional. It’s playable but Black Bear and the Country Club of Mt Dora I thought were in better shape. The waste areas were not maintained (yes I know, don’t hit into them and you won’t have to worry). I ended up in one behind a green and found my ball lying in a tire track. The greens are/were lightening fast (they had a tournament following us) and the pin placements were brutal, fun and challenging, but brutal. Overall, as with my philosophy, I will return and play again.

tough, tough, tough
Course in good shape. Fairways nice grass. Greens fast and lots of slope. Like putting on a billiard table on a West Virginia hillside. Lots and lots of sand and bunkers everywhere. Some fairways sloped. Some forced carries over water and waste areas. Will play it again.
