Fleming Island Golf Club
About
The Golf Club at Fleming Island has a diverse landscape that allows for two distinctly different nines. The front nine of the golf course is wide open with waste areas and wetlands to create a classic links feeling. In contrast, the back nine was carved from dense forests, giving a more secluded atmosphere. There are sand bunkers strategically placed across the rolling landscape and water comes into play throughout. The fairways on this golf course are misleading, they are not as tight as they seem from the tees. Although the Golf Club at Fleming Island can be a challenge, there are five sets of tees to accommodate all skill levels.

Quiet For A Saturday
First time back in ten years. Found that they were still seeding the 2nd week of November, so putting was iffy at times. I enjoyed the round, although not sure if I will be back any time soon.
Very nice course, very good condition, slow pace of play
The course was in very good shape. The greens were fast and the putts on the undulated greens rolled very well. The fairways were cut very short and which rolled an extra 15-20 yards on drives.
Quite a few holes require accuracy in the fairways or your ball would roll off to the edges. Same with some greens that were elevated.
The pace of play was slower than I expected for a Friday. Our round was a little more than 4.5 hours.
The practice facilities were very nice with a range and a chipping/putting green within viewing distance of the first tee box so you could time your arrival to #1.
the course was in nice shape & for the money a good value
The course was nice & challenging. The play was slow, yet we finished in a little over 4 1/4 hours.
Great course - bad weather
We played 6 holes then the rain began and the course was flooded. We missed a locker room.
course was in very good shape
we were just a twosome, but the pace of play moved right along. course was in good shape.
Nice layout
Great course for the value. A little bit out of the way for golfers who live along the coast. Heavy rains the day before forced us to keep carts on path. Wouldn't let that stop me from enjoying playing it again.
Beautifully Kept Course
This course is pristine and a fantastic value! Fair and challenging, each hole has its own unique character. Greens are in perfect shape! Every fairway is plush. Even the rough was a consistent length around the track. I enjoyed every stroke on this course. Great pace of play and the pro shop attendant was incredibly nice and very helpful. He specifically asked if this was my first time on the course (which it was) and made sure I knew exactly how to get around the facility. The only reason this is not a 5 star score is because I played on a Saturday and there was not a beverage/snack cart in sight. Not acceptable in my opinion for a weekend. Also, there were several bunkers without rakes. Don't let that stop you though. Bring a couple of drinks and enjoy!
Fleming Island Golf Club
This course was moderately challenging. The fairways and rough were in good condition. The greens were not running fast due to over-seeding but there were no crispy edges or major problems with the greens. There course was not marked well and there were no attendants to clean or transfer your clubs. There was no starter either. We had to find the range on our own and just get in line for the start. Pretty much no frills!
Great course
Very helpful staff. Course was in great condition.
Fun course, very good condition despite so much rain. Great value.
From the White tees I find if both playable and challenging. All par 3's greens are reachable, but sometimes hard to hold. Most all greens have difficult pin placements and can be hard to read. Also hitting the fairways can be accomplished 80% or better of the time, but beware the false fronts, pot bunkers and the sand.
Always enjoy my rounds here!
Attractive course. Front 9 is beautiful.
Course was missing the A! when booking.
Overall conditions were good, just wasn't informed about the A!
Overall average course
Some greens need a little attention, but te majority are in good shape. They were putting about a medium slow speed.
exceptional experience.
Staff was very friendly and enthusiastic. Starter was exceptional in presenting the course and sincerely wanted our group to have a fun round of golf. Course was in excellent shape from tee thru green.
Excellent
Fleming Island is an outstanding design that will challenge every club in your bag (if you play from the correct set of tees) without being unfair. Trouble can be found but only by errant shots. Hit a good shot and you will likely be rewarded. A great mix of long and short holes, wide and tight, open and tree lined, etc. The back nine really shines, with a feel that is more like the foothills of the Appalachians than coastal Florida.
The course is in great condition right now, with only a few small spaces of Ground Under Repair, mostly near greens and bunkers due to recent heavy rains. The greens are flat and smooth and look great. Same with tees and fairways.
One complaint: our 8:34 tee time was held up for almost half-an-hour due to extra mens group Saturday game players who showed up at the last minute who had not registered ahead of time. Their fault, make them wait, not your paying guests who were on time.
The course is well maintained.
Our 4-some teed off on time, and finished on time. We had others behind us, but they were not held up by us. The course has had the extra benefit of LOTS of rain over the past weeks. It is refreshing to note that the course handled so much water quite well. Also, the results are that the tee boxes, fairways and greens are simply in superb condition. Now, can you do something about the heat and humidity? About 70 on each of those would be great!
This course is always in excellent condition.
This is one of my favorite Golfnow courses. It is always challenging and always in pristine condition.
Well maintained.
Fairways, greens and rough are all lush. All are well maintained. They had a lot of rain in the past week and the ground was saturated, but it was still very playable.
Nice Course
An enjoyable afternoon on a decent course. Greens were in decent shape compared to others.
Great value!
Greens in relatively good shape considering recent aeration. Fairways are in great shape even with several inches of rainfall during previous 2-3 days. The course has great drainage overall and well-maintained -- dollar-for-dollar, one of the best courses in Northheast Florida!
Great Layout
would have given a higher recommendation but they had just aerated the greens. Beautiful course with a great layout.
