Course was in great shape
Course was well maintained and in great shape. Lots of water and is a challenging course with some very difficult holes. Will come back to play.
Cimarrone Is Back
I’ve been playing at Cimarrone for over 20 years. I stopped playing there quite a while ago when the course - under prior ownership and management - fell onto hard times. But since the new ownership took over several years ago, they have made significant improvements to the course, clubhouse and infrastructure. The layout is very challenging and requires precision off the tee. Now the conditions are very good, including the greens and most of the fairways. Once the Bermuda comes in when the weather warms up, it’s going to be very perfect! Love the new clubhouse and bar. Friendly staff and patrons. Great value and now on list of top semi-private courses in Jax area.
Water water everywhere
Great course and in great condition. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Loved the round. Only downside was not a great grab and go options for the turn. Also be prepared there is some water.
The layout is pretty cool. Very playable.off the tee. Some of the slowest greens I've ever played. Some guy i played with said its some salt water grass. Its so thick i could barely fix my ball marks. Marshall was very rude. Honestly, most of the staff were standoffish. I played on 3-24-26 @ 9am so whoever the Marshall was at 11am was the guy who was rude. IIf he wasnt rude, i would play here again. But he was, so i will gladly take my money somewhere else. Fleming island is way better for the same price.
OUR "GO TO" COURSE
This is our 4th year playing Cimarrone GC when we come down for THE PLAYERS CHAMPIONSHIP. This year our reservation included range balls and lunch which was a nice addition. However, the range is small and we had to wait about 20 minutes for a spot to open up and when we finished our round the buffet was closed. The course was in decent shape considering the lack of rain in the area. The greens rolled well. Will keep this in our rotation.
Gut punch
Friday the 13th turned into a nightmare after being so excited to enjoy a round of golf with my family. Two rounds with two riders.
“ Oh hi, welcome, are you paying for both rounds?”
“ Sure no problem. Put it on my card, we have two riders that will not be playing.”
“ Great; you will have to pay for two full additional rounds to have them ride.”
I think we all understand an up charge for cart fees, but to charge for two full rounds of golf and paired with another group is an unnecessary gut punch and a horrible start to what could’ve been a beautiful day, Friday the 13th or otherwise.
Golf is challenging enough without getting gut punched before the first hole, so so unnecessary.
Never disappoints
The condition of the course has been great for some time now and it did not disappoint. I enjoy the course even more every time I play it.
Course keeps getting better
The track had always been fun, but the course conditions have gotten so much better year over year. One of my favorite courses to play in the Jacksonville area
Good course
This course is a great one to play. Nice layout and in good shape. We had dinner in the restaurant and it was great.
Super Fun Course
Cimarrone was a lot of fun to play. The staff members were very polite and attentive. I was pleasantly surprised with the shape of the golf course with the drought conditions that have been taking place. The greens were somewhat slow, but very forgiving and great to putt on. The fairways were nice. The bunkers are well kept with the "right" amount of sand. Tees could be flatter in a few spots but were still in pretty nice shape. They sent me out as a single and I was able to get the round in about 3 hours. I even stopped a handful of times to enjoy the surroundings. Lots of wildlife to see as well. I will definitely be back to Cimarrone.
