Vellano Country Club

I had some free time and booked at last minute on Hot Deals. A beautiful way to spend a few hours. A challenging course with an afternoon wind but really enjoyed the round.

A challenge for all levels. Great condition. No traffic. Fast pace.

This is a Pro course plain and simple. I hit the ball as well as I can hit it except three times, each time that I missed I paid with a double bogie. I took my time and read the greens and still was way off on a few putts. I walk down the side of one hill to play my ball and by the time that I made it back up my legs had turned into rubber. I was tortured. Can't wait to go back. Trust me bring your (A) game and a lots of Balls of both varieties.

Vellano lived up to its reputation. Its a pretty tough track it would help if you had your A game that day but it was not unfair in my opinion. My common miss is left and left is not good on a lot of holes so I suffered a bit. The greens were in pretty good shape but a couple of them were pretty hammered. The wind is an issue we were playing into some pretty gusty winds in the afternoon. Overall its a nice course with some elevation changes, I would play it again.

I simply love this course. A group behind us has said this course is Extreme Hidden Valley course. I totally agree with them. This is the most challenging course, period. It was a hot day but the breeze we got we played totally in cool weather. I would play and play again.

I was reluctant to play the course based upon previous reviews mostly referring to the hillyness and tightness of the course. I saw a reasonable rate and decided to give it a shot. The majority of the greens were unplayable bumpy and slow with areas of disease. This was a complete waste of time, effort and money.

The course beat me up, but the views and surroundings were spectacular. Lots of hilly walking even with the cart. Some very challenging holes, some easy. I played with a former member so his course knowledge was invaluable. I played at a reduced rate, bring an extra sleeve of balls (I lost 4).

Enjoyed a new challenge in a country club environment. Lost a few more balls than normal as course knowledge is key and they do not provide much help in figuring out the course. Definitely not a walking course as it has extreme elevation changes as it was built in a hilly area. Surprisingly I golfed well with some true greens in good shape. Loved the clubhouse as it is new and primarily a private course.
Will definitely want to return again assuming they continue to let non members golf.

Overall fun and challenge

A very challenging course with beautiful holes. Not
a course for intermediate players. Many carry
shots with tight fairway and undulating greens.

This golf course is one of my favorites! Very challenging up and down fairways with undulating greens. Bring your "A" game because you will lose golf balls left and right if you miss the fairways.

Believe me when I say that I am an avid golfer and this course will not disappoint your expectations!

Great Greg Norman course. Huge greens, so play your shots to the flag and play off the hills. The wind makes it very challenging, up to 2 clubs.

Frustrating day on a really nice, really tough course. Can't wait to up my skills and come back ina ferw months for the challege.

Driving accurate is a must. Greens very firm and hard to read at times because of hills and valleys. Green accessibility was not well planned. Incline around greens from 45 to 70 degree angles. Anyone with breathing problems should request handicap flag.

The whole course was pretty dry, and the greens were extremely fast and difficult. I think the course design is creative, and the views are great.

Fairways a bit dry over all nice layout would play again

Having been a member when private and having not played the course in 9 months, were very saddened to see the condition of the course. It has not been maintained and we thought it looked pretty shabby. The whole course is dry and there are many dead trees and bushes on the hillsides.
I doubt if we will play it again.

classy, great course, well kept I really like this course

First time playing this course. Nice design and not too contrived. A few holes seem unduely unfair, but otherwise a nice design. My girlfriend complained about some of the fairway and greenside bunkers as unplayable. Some holes require long carries - the par 5 5th pretty much requires a driver to carry to the fairway. It does require accuracy.

The play was pretty slow as we were waiting on almost every hole. There were three foursomes ahead of us that seemed to be holding up the play. We got the final hole in right at dusk.
