Duran Golf Club is a local favorite, known for being the best public course in Brevard County. The club is also home to the area's only lighted nine-hole, par-3 course. The course stretches across fertile terrain that was formerly a sod farm, lending some of the lushest playing surfaces on Florida's east coast. The championship layout has a links feel with subtle mounding that frames large, undulating greens. The beautiful landscape comes into play throughout the golf course. Sparkling lakes and ponds, lush grasses, and stately palms all add to the beauty and challenge of the round. Coastal breezes come into play on several holes thanks to the seaside location. Duran Golf Club's practice facility is almost as popular as the 18-hole course. In addition to the par-3 course, there is also a large driving range with mounded areas where you can practice with uphill and downhill lies.

Normally Great Course

The course is one of myfavorites, however, due to the fact there are not any rangers, the group in front of us took forever. Given that the weather was steadily escalating all day, it was imminent that we sped up our play, but the group ahead of us were not budging. It got to the point where it was almost comical how long they were taking to play. Overall, the greens were nice and the grass wasn’t too bad given the storm the previous day.

Enjoyable course

First time golfing at Duran and overall I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Staff was nice.

Course was in good/great shape. Tee boxes had some patchy long grass but other than that really good shape.

Pace of play was awful. We were the 3rd group off to start the morning and it was rough to sit and wait the whole morning. Had a 6:54 tee time and the starter didn’t start our group until 7:10 or so… for the 3rd group off I wasn’t sure why this was an issue other than the group to start wanted to wait for a bit more sun?? Nonetheless, it took almost 5 hours to play 18.

Wide open course

The day was hot and windy and the course offerred little relief from the elements. If you like wide open courses, this one fits the recipe. Although there are a lot of ponds around, water hazards don't really come into play very much. There are few mature trees to contend with. Mostly flat with some elevation changes on greens. Greens are fairly large and most have false fronts. Overall, a nice course with very friendly staff.
