Duran Golf Club - Championship Course
About
Duran Golf Club is a local favorite, known for being the best public course in Brevard County. The club is also home to the area's only lighted nine-hole, par-3 course. The course stretches across fertile terrain that was formerly a sod farm, lending some of the lushest playing surfaces on Florida's east coast. The championship layout has a links feel with subtle mounding that frames large, undulating greens. The beautiful landscape comes into play throughout the golf course. Sparkling lakes and ponds, lush grasses, and stately palms all add to the beauty and challenge of the round. Coastal breezes come into play on several holes thanks to the seaside location. Duran Golf Club's practice facility is almost as popular as the 18-hole course. In addition to the par-3 course, there is also a large driving range with mounded areas where you can practice with uphill and downhill lies.

Favorite course in Brevard county
I live in Brevard county which has about 26 different golf courses and this is the one I like best. It has a great layout with generous fairways but some challenging holes. greens were about a 9 but were smooth. The practice facility is the best in the county. sometimes the pace is a little slow if you get behind various golf leagues but most of the time is good. The restaurant and bar facility is also top of the line with excellent food and fair prices.
Great layout. That’s it
I’ve always loved this course but extremely disappointed after todays round. It was 90 degrees with only two spots on the course to get water. Vending machines sold out. No cart girl and the restaurant was closed due to an event so no food or drinks at the turn. Worst part was there is no ranger and there was a 6-some in front of us the whole round so pace of play was awful.. Likely lost a group of players that come here 1-2 times a month because of that. Way too hot in Florida for no water coolers on every few holes and having to wait on a group of 6 drunk idiots playing from the tips when they aren’t even good.
Made the hike from Davenport to Viera to play this course. It was a very interesting track. The course was in pretty good shape. The greens rolled slightly slower than I expected. The practice facility was great. The staff (especially the starter) was top notch. I would recommend checking this course out. Bring some extra balls as there is plenty of water throughout the course. Awesome par 3 #7!
Fun when firm and fast
I was pleasantly surprised by Duran when I played it in late March in the Space Coast Amateur, a local tournament. The course doesn't look overly complicated from photos, but the area's drought conditions over the late winter had it playing nice and firm and fast, with everything in good shape. The greens have some interesting contours, with the boldest being the large "Punchbowl" 7th green. I enjoyed architect Chip Powell's choice to echo the CB Macdonald/Seth Raynor template holes with certain features. They elevate Duran above the designation of "just another Florida golf course." Worth playing if you are in the area.
One of the top courses in the county!
I play Duran at least once a month and it always delivers. The course is always in very good condition and the greens are beautiful and true. Large, wide fairways abound but steer it offline and trouble lurks in the form of deep bunkers and watery graves. Easily one of the best courses in the county, if you are from out of the area and visiting the Melbourne area make sure you put Duran on your list of must-plays.
Great course
I play the white tees, the length is great for older players.
Top choice in area.
Great condition, fast greens. Choose your tee wisely.
nice place
Enjoyed the course, nice staff, true rolling greens that had decent speed, but were not too fast. Enjoyed most everything about the course...Greens a tad hard, but not enough to ruin any good shots.....very good course.
Enjoyable and challenging
Very challenging greens with severe undulations on many holes. Very well maintained fairways, rough, green side, and greens. Errant tee shots are penalized but the fairways are amenable to only slightly misdirected shots. The staff is always pleasant and curtious. The driving range is outstanding. Hitting balls there prior to the round was more than pleasing. It is a fairly new course, clubhouse, practice facility, etc. Therefore everything feels fresh and clean. If you haven't yet give The Duran Golf Club a swing or two.
Great layout -well groomed
Although the 2 men we were paired up with were a bit condescending and silently critical as I struggled with my game for the front nine I still enjoyed playing the course.
We split up on back and it was truly a much more pleasant afternoon. We played in less than 4 hours. Went into 19th hole for a beverage after and your bar maid was one of the most pleasant woman we have encountered . Another plus for the Duran.
Hopefully we will get to play there again
Forgiving Fairways
The fairways are quite wide and forgiving. It may seem easy but be prepared for fast rolling undulated
greens. Some fairway areas were marginal ,from all the rain.I will definetly play this course again!
very nice golf day
Course in very good shape (a few low spots in fairways were still wet from amazing amount of rain lately...not the courses fault, and they are dealing with it fine). Greens very good shape and lightning fast. Got a last minute hot deal and that made it great bang for the buck. Probably the best course in Brevard county.
got in a quick round on sunday afternoon
booked a 3:30ish tee time. course was fairly empty. ive always heard duran was nice, but i never had a chance to play it. everyone was right, easily the best conditions, and best kept golf course ive played in the area. greens were rolling nicely, a couple mud spot due to the rain, but other than that it was in great shape. got the round in less then 4 hours.
oh i forgot, big mosquito issues at dusk. big issues
Great course
Duran. Is a great course with nice lay out and plenty of challenges for a expert or a beginner
Great Shape
The course was in great shape. Great time. Will be back again.
Excellent Course
Fairways and greens are in excellent condition. Had a great day of golf.
Best in brevard
Great layout and always in very good condition . Greens are challenging and roll nice. Best course in brevard , hands down !
great for the price excellent
it was a great course I played the par 3 course i'm planning on playing full 18 holes soon. it is a great golf course for a geat price manliy for beginers and intermianete players
This course is very short.
Overpriced for what you get. It is more a pitch and putt course.
