The course is in great shape. The traps actually have sand. Unlike some courses that charge around the same price. Greens are pretty quick. Even in the early morning, when they’re still wet. It’s a fun layout

Staff was great. Front nine was great. The dogs were great. The back nice was great. The greens were fast. My golf game was horrible. Thank you empire for a great time.

We play here twice a week and for the last 3-4 weeks the course is soaking wet no matter what time you play. You hit a good drive only to land in mud or get plugged. The bunkers are wet too. Yes , the grass is nice and green but please, please stop overwatering. We are considering playing elsewhere until the conditions improve.

Many of the fairways areas have fungus problems. Bunkers need new sand., Greens are in good shape and the new card path was long overdue.

The track is set-up to be a tale of two nines. With the front nine being quite walkable wending its way along side wet lands, but the back can only be walked by a paratrooper of a through-hiker: think Black Diamond steep if you also snow ski. Pace of play was the best feature of this course, but teeing off at 7:00 AM should get you back to the club house around four hours any where you go. This is another of Sacramento Area's neighborhood niche golf courses with some homes just too close to the playing grounds. That is a turn-off for me personally. They ought to use some of the green fees for rehabilitation of tee boxes. Grounds keeper did something I think is a Faux Pas in course set-up that day by moving tee markers so far back you you had to stand in the rough on sloping ground. Double Faux Pas by doing that to weekend golfers paying the top green fees for the week. Club house is uninspiring but food is well above average for a golf course and the servers are delightful. Huge big screen for watching the games.

Overall a good course to play. Greens were in excellent shape , held shots well, and putts rolled true- fast compared to other courses I’ve played. A bit too much water on the tee boxes and fairways which almost seemed like Winter conditions in August. Staff in the restaurant needs vast improvement in being friendly and better attitudes. No beverage cart on the course which was a bummer because it was a hot /humid day. Lots of blind shots from the tee boxes ( unable to see pin /greens) but that didn’t hamper shot selection much. Would play this course again

Pace of play was great, marshals are always available to make sure course is running smoothly.

Great course , they are doing a great job under drought conditions.

Very wet in low spots and burned out in high spots!

The clubhouse , cart and driving range were awesome. The course, however, was soupy and really wet. It was my first time playing this course so I guess the drainage is not the best. There were multiple spots with tires tracks in muddy grass. The worst part was the staff. The starter made it a point to call us up to the tee box a full 7 minutes before our time even though we were only 50 yards away with a cart. He was not very friendly. Then the marshall pulled up next to us on the 3rd fairway to inform us that we were playing slow and not keeping up with the twosome ahead of us. We were 4. He could have been nicer. I will probably be back but with my guard up. Not the way I like to play golf.

First off in the morning. Played in less than 3 hours.
