A Good Time
I like this course. It's simple. Very happy that they're rebuilding the pro shop.
Poor executive course
First time playing here. The fairways and tee boxes are trashed. Many tee boxes don’t even have the white markers to play off of. Tons of mud and ruts in the fairways. The layout is horrible. It gets very confusing when you can’t figure out where hole 4 ends and hole 5 begins. They need more signage pointing players in the right direction. This entire course can be played with a 7 iron and a putter. I like executive courses for their really short play, but the conditions here were rock bottom. I know the owners also own Indian Hills and Jurupa Hills as well as Hidden Valley. This little course obviously is the “red headed step child” of the four. Sad. I won’t be back here. For $17.00, it’s totally not worth it. The only good thing was the driving range.
The course is great
I have play this course five times four during the day and one time at night. I defenetly enjoing playing during the day, great field good lenght to play in twohours, nice land scape i cant waite to do my next reservation. Great service abd great prize
Needs Work
For a $6 Hot Deal one can hardly complain too much. This is a 9-hole executive golf course with a great driving range (both turf and artificial hitting areas), along with a putting green. Surprisedly there is also a nice little bar on the premises with big screen tvs, food, and a variety of beers. The course unfortunately needs work. The tee boxes are ill-kept with some of the blue tees looking liked they've been placed in the rough. The fairways could use a dose of weed killer and the rough is unevenly cut and deep in many places. Over watering has also left many areas in both the rough and fairways muddy and swampy and rutted with tire marks. The greens are good, but the bunkers seemed to be ignored by the grounds crews. This could really be a gem of a little practice course with some better maintenance. Would most likely not play more than once a year in current conditions.
You get what you pay for
Star was friendly and accommodating but other than that, the course had a bad layout, the pace of play was extremely slow. Seems like everyone started at the same time.
Good little course
A buddy and I just got done playing another course and we didn't want to go get stuck in traffic so looked up this place and saw they had a special for $6/player we jumped on it and it was a good choice. Played in 1.5 hours conditions were nothing to brag about but greens and approach areas were in great shape! Pro shop and bar staff were friendly and range and practice areas looked decent as well.
Best Value
I had a great time at Van Buren Golf. Great staff, Great Bar, and covered driving range. 9 holes of fun! I took advantage of one of their promotions and well worth it.
EXCELLENT COURSE FOR BEGINNERS
All went well, gave us a 1/2 hour earier start.Fun little course.we all had fun, would play again.
Great course to learn on.
Had a good time golfing this smaller golf course. This is good to work on your short game. You will only use your driver once or twice. However what I really enjoyed was that planes fly over every 5 minutes. It's just cool to see and the view in hole 7&8 right next to the airport where my favorites. I'm definitely going back.
45 for 4
I walked off the course after the 3rd hole. 45 minutes to play 2&1/2 holes. I was sent out as a single with a twosome in front and a foursome on front of them. Arrived at every hole with the foursome waiting to tee off. Never again. I informed the pro shop staff that that was crazy. They didn't even offer me so much as a bucket of balls for my time .
A bit deceiving.... very disappointed .
So to start ... I passed by the course often and couldn't help but notice the range being lit up at night, which was cool. As far as the range, practice green, and chipping green go, I would give it 2 thumbs up, personally ..
I booked my round and thought to my self 16 bucks for 9 isn't bad at all . After I finished the first hole I got the feeling I should go get my $16 back ... The course is a bit confusing at first if you've never played it . But that wasn't even the bad part . It's hard to describe, but basically the fairways look like they been over seeded over watered and completely destroyed, there are greens placed in the most random places (in the middle of the fairway on the way to hole ) . The rough looks like it's just super long crab grass . And there's no fringes , it goes from fairway straight dropping off into greens . As for the greens themselves , they look like they are well kept, maybe a bit over watered and rolled a bit too much , but they were decent . As far as my round went, i shot 3 over on nine holes and mostly because I refused to go looking for a couple of balls that went off line (which I found on the holes coming back) . I guess for me, I was very disappointed at how bad the course was being cared for . I would definitely not be playing there again. But what do you expect for 16 bucks .
Good Learning Course
Second time playing here with 13 yr old son. It's really a good place to teach my son to play. The fact that there is only 9 hole is also a plus. Thank you for a nice time.
Great value
Nice course to practice short game. Fairways and greens in excellent condition.
Worst manager behavior
The blonde female manager at this course has a terrible attitude we must have caught her on a bad day, but her attitude was unexceptable to a paying customer she raised her voice and even used foul language towards us and her friends she was playing with were even saying foul words toward us because we were unaware that they had changed it over to night course, we were being as polite as possible to her and her friends and they still treated us like trash, I just couldn't belive it. We will never return to this course again because of how mistreated we were. The manager was terrible, I feel sorry for the employees that have to work with her.
Avoid It
Wow. With the overall decent reviews I was expecting a decent course. I have to believe that the course wrote some of the previous ones....
- The only grass that looked like it had been even remotely maintained was the greens.
- The rest of the "grass" was whatever species of weed felt like growing there.
- There is no fairway or tees. The tees were just placed someplace random that was cut into a square
- They had some tee boxes that looked nice, but they were for the "night course". I think they plan on everyone playing at night so they can't see what is around them.
- Half the course smells like sewage
- The tiny driving range causes there to be range balls all over the course from people hitting over the nets
I usually don't expect much when booking a course like this. But you don't event get the little bit that you pay for at this place (I paid $5 per person through golfnow).
I usually don't write reviews because I rarely care enough to do so. But this place was such a disaster that I felt I needed to at least warn anyone considering it.

Hard hat!!!
The layout is good, but when the course is full you will need to bring your hard hat.. Hole 4 runs in to hole 3, when playing hole 7 you need to carry a flag the hills will hide your location.
