Value Course
I recently played at the Van Buren golf course after living next to it for years. For the price you pay and the conditions you get; the course is great. The greens are tricky for anyone new to the sport based on how small they are. However, they are in great shape and roll just fine. The staff was super helpful and informative at the course for someone who was new the facility. Overall I would recommend fellow Riverside folks to at least play here once.
Course is a good short game practice
Fairways were in good shape and so were the greens. Will play again.
good course to learn
this is perfect for kids and beginners which is why the pace of play is a bit slower than average. the course is in ok condition but some fairways are a bit dry. in the mornings the green fee is fair, but in the afternoon not worth the price they don't offer twilight prices and for a few bucks more you can play paradise knolls or indian hills which are in much better conditions and just down the street. overall a good course to practice iron shots and good driving range.
Great Monday $5 deal
This is a respectable executive course for beginners or those just wanting a good practice round. Don't take course for granted or you will shoot a high score.
My weekly course
Okay, this is the best 9 hole course in the surrounding area. Definitely not a pitch and put, but there are 2 holes where you have to grab a wedge a the box (2 & 9).
Greens are usually in good shape, and the grounds crew is constantly working. Fairways aren't very well defined; but, they keep up the rough as well as the rest of the course so mishits won't end up in a horrible lie.
On a good day a single can get through the course in 1 1/4 hours. I've done it on several occasions. Best times for quick games are between 9-10 and 1-4.
Fun times
It's always a fun time playing here and it's a reasonable price for 9 holes.
Average public course
The round started 3 twosomes waiting on the first tee.
After we got started it was a little slow.
The bad part came after 9 holes. I paid for 18 holes on GN Mobil app. And was told I only paid for 9 holes.,turned out the desk top GN app. Stated 9 holes and the mobile app. Were I made my reservation stated 18 holes.
Showed the course manager he agreed when I showed him the GN mobile app.on my phone. He then offered me a free bucket of balls. He told me it was an error on golf noes part.
Just was pretty lousy having to prove the errors.
Get your moneys worth
If you are going to pay 8 dollars to play a course be ready to know what your getting yourself into. This is no Eagle Glenn. It's really slow to play but it's fun for beginners. Take your kids or girl here but don't expect amazing views and nice fairways.
Great value
Van Buren is a short course! The longest hole is only 300+ yards. With only nine holes it's a 2 hour tour for a bogey golfer and just perfect for anyone with lesser skills. At ten bucks a round it's a steal.
Tom's review
The course is a nice short outing. There a plenty of challenges.
Save your money
Van Buren used to be maintained at a higher level than I found it Sunday. Many spots on the course were severely over watered and other areas dry as the desert. Most of the tee boxes were roped off for some reason. They weren't being groomed or repaired, just closed. this always has been a course for learners and kids but there is no way it take 2 1/2 hours to play a 9 hole course. Simply ridiculous. The practice area is still good and if I return, that's all I will utilize.
Whew!
Course condition was not very good. Greens were ok
The course was grate
I had fun will do again me and my freinds had a good time will come back again thanks for a good time
decent course
Not bad for the money. I'm new to the game so 9 holes is fine to get some practice and learn the game
Great place to take your kids
This was a weird course to play. Very hard to understand where to hit the ball (day and night course together). This is a great practice course for $10.00 with a cart. I took my kids to play here because it was cheap and looked like a fun time. For $10 you could go to the movies, or play golf. We saw a lot of parents with little kids learning to play, so we will re-name this course, the "Chuck'E'Cheese" course. Our other name for this course is the "Ghetto" course. Beer cans and trash everywhere, as there was no trash cans on the course, portapotty on the course, guy's golfing with there pants below there butt, banged up bondo carts, and the best, gravel pathways for off road diving! We had a great time if you want to play and have fun with your kids or buddies and not really care about your golf game. So grab your friends or kids and go play around, beats the mini golf course.
Course is a little confusing with day/ night course green
Great value for beginners, still fun to bring kids . Course should set up Jr. Tee box for longer holes.
