The Palmer Course is one of two golf courses at La Cantera Resort, it is named after its famous designer, golf legend Arnold Palmer. Firmly situated on 225 acres of Texas Hill Country, the golf course features plenty of elevation changes to keep golfers on their toes. There is also an abundance of mature oaks covering the course, requiring accuracy off the tees. The unique layout incorporates dramatic waterfalls, lakes, and numerous white sand bunkers throughout. La Cantera Resort’s Palmer Course has several signature holes, most notably the fourth hole. This demanding par 3 requires a long carry over a lake with waterfalls along the front of the green.

Challenging Round of Golf
This course is a great challenge for the average golfer!! Greens are in perfect condition and very tough to read. Not much room for mistakes off the Tee box either.
Excellent everything
I played by myself today and Bud was the starter. He took the time to explain a couple of the blind tee shots on the course. That's extremely telling of how great of service you'll receive playing this course. Even for a native south Texan, the wind combined with elevation change really works your yardages in a big way. Will definitely be back for more.
Great experience
Awesome but challenging! Incredible scenic and course was in great condition. It's tough to find any flat lie or of straight putt but it makes the good shots that much more rewarding. Would absolutely recommend to anyone who enjoys golf. Just be patient if you're a beginner like myself ha!
This is a tough course in the wind but I really like it
I will return as this is a very nice course. We had a slow foursome in front of us that held us up but other than that it was very enjoyable.
Gorgeous views but a tough track!
The Palmer course at La Cantera is such an impressive golf course. The clubhouse is beautiful and unlike any building I have ever seen but fits well into the hill country of San Antonio.
The course has some very extreme elevation changes that can really mess with your yardages. We played on a Texas-windy day so combine that with major elevation change, and I can promise no one scored their personal best! I think the bread-and-butter of La Cantera Palmer course has to be the views. Especially on the back nine, you are atop the hill and can see for miles. Its absolutely some of the most breath-taking views I have ever had on a golf course. I would recommend this course to anyone in the area. This is a great location and the whole experience is second to none!

Fun course
This is such a fun course to play. We travel twice a year my buddies and I to play 4 different courses in the San Antonio over the weekend. This is always the first course we play.
The course is always in tip top shape, and the scenery is awesome.
On this particular outing the people were extra friendly. It almost seem like they went out of their way to make sure you had a good time.
The guy at the bar was very upbeat, the cart girl was very friendly and smiled the entire time, but I think the gentleman loading up your bag made the most impression during this visit. They were very engaging and really made me feel unique.
Great job. A must play course!
Great test of golf with STUNNING views
GREAT Palmer golf course, this course will test your golf skills in all departments. The golf course has STUNNING views, undulating greens, fast fairways and loads of ponds and streams. If you like a challenge it is a must in San Antonio.
Great test of golf
Great track that makes you think your way around the course! Some blind tee shots but has markers telling you where to hit ball . Greens were fast and true. Fairways were beautiful! Best course we played while on buddies trip to San Antonio! Must play!
Fiesta time golf
I have played Palmer several times before but this was by far the best shape I have seen it in. This course is a must play for anyone visiting San Antonio.
Enjoy the Experience!
The magnificent panoramic arial views refresh and invigorate your spirit and makes this course an intoxicatingly enjoyable experience. The sloped fairways are challenging but very fair and the putting greens roll truer than an eight ball in the side pocket. Enjoy, enjoy, enjoy!
A must play if in SAT
Scenic, great conditions, difficult so choose the right box. The greens are difficult but roll true.
If in SAT, just do it!
Perfect Day!
Great day of golf with my son. Weather was perfect. Course was in amazing shape. Greens were slick and the best I've ever seen them. Can't wait to get back out there again!
Challenging vacation golf
The course is in excellent condition. The rough was cut short making the course forgiving to slightly wayward shots. The greens call for creativity to navigate the slopes and avoid some very fast downhill putts. The length of the course is very manageable and playing up one tee box makes for a very fun round. All together, the course provided plenty of challenge, lots of beautiful views especially from the higher elevations of the back nine, while still being forgiving enough to allow for a pleasant vacation golf experience.
My wife played the forward tees and found the course to be somewhat long from her tees, but manageable.
Sand Traps
Sand Traps need to be better. They don't measure up with the quality of the course.
