Foxtail Golf Club - North Course
About
Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park offers two championship courses, the North and the South, situated in the heart of wine country. The North Course originally opened in 1974 but underwent a major renovation that completely redesigned the layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The par-72 North is considerably longer and more difficult than the par-71 South. The North features multiple doglegs and strategically placed sand traps that will test even the most experienced players. To make the golf course a bit more approachable, water hazards don't play a prominent role, though they do appear on a few holes, and the forward tees are very player friendly. With 36 holes available, Foxtail G.C. is able to host tournaments and events while still having another 18 holes open to the public.

Good greens
Fun course....smooth greens....fairways in decent shape...most tee boxes are good. Played the south ....it is easier then the north...give it a try.
Foxtail South
Mostly flat course and walkable. The course was in good condition and the greens were in good shape. A few muddy areas on the course and I have heard this course doesn't drain very well. Nice course for an intermediate golfer or a golfer that hasn't played much golf lately.
Beautiful greens.
It took a couple holes to get used to the firmness and speed of the greens. But then, the putting was as close to perfect conditions as you will ever find.
Smooth, unblemished, fast greens made putting a real pleasure.
Because of the drought, the fairways are quite firm, and barren in spots.
Foxtail North
Golfnow had this as a Hot deal. New playedb3 people with carts for $61 which included a $9'servicenfee and tax. Course was in pretty good conditions. Some of the greens were were dry and bumpy . There was some excess water on a couple of holes but for winter time not too bad.! Staff was very friendly and the pace was good . Outstanding round for the price.
Foxtail North and South both good layouts
Been playing these courses now for 43 years! Foxtail has seen me play between 9 and 4 handicaps.
I love their pine/fir trees, and the greens are great, with a consistent tendency to break LESS than you think.
My first green fee through Golfnow, and a super easy bargain experience !
Great course great prices
A great place to enjoy your game. Friendly peeps and good greens
value for the money
course is in good condition and value for the money excellent. great weather, great course
Bunkers like cement
The course overall was fairly good. The greens were maintained, as well as the fariways. There were a few soggy spots, that if your ball landed in it, it was almost necessary to pick it up and drop it in a drier area. Also, the bunkers were horrendous! Whether it was a fairway bunker or greenside, they were like cement. I was troublesome to save a respectful score on any hole that I managed to hit into a bunker.
The service was great as the beverage cart came around at least four time throughout the round. This was a necessity since the play was pretty slow. I was in a twosome and it took 4.5 hours to finish the round. Overall it was a fun experience, but that will be the last time I book a tee time at 2 on a Saturday at this course.
A good day golfing
Enjoyed our round,. The course had some problems with wet areas but we got around them. Good value.
North course
Great place to play just a few rough/fluffy areas near fairway that shouldn't be so rough or fluffy and some areas very hard which made the ball go farther than it should have and eventually were lost.
No drought here.
Course is in good shape. I've been playing winter rules at most courses due to lack of water, there just isn't enough grass. Not here, though there are some dry spots your ball doesn't end up in those spots. Greens in very good, semi-soft, semi-fast.
Nice design
Imaginative course layout with multiple doglegs despite being in a housing tract. Bet good condition except bunkers - filled with clod dirt. Great value.
Had a good time!
Played as a single and was not familiar with the course. The course was laid out with great signs that help me to navigate from tee to tee. Challenging and fun at the same time. Went out early enough to practice my short game and putting. Greens were challenging but well kept and the overall experience was wonderful!
Course condition
This course was in great condition considering California is in a drought. Plenty of green grass everywhere and well maintained. Was fun to play and would play it again.
Always a good time
Best deal for sure in the area. Pace of play is always decent.
Good...for the money
We had a good round, the South Course is in a little bit better shape than usual, but still pretty rough in a few areas.
Enjoyable Course
Though the course overall is in good, the sand traps are horrible. They are no sand, but clay
Nice residential track
I play Foxtail more than any other course since I live minutes away. I usually play the South course because its less expensive, but I decided to spend a little more and play the North.
I arrived a little early, hoping to get out before my scheduled tee time because I had dinner plans. There was an older gentleman with a mustache who flat said, "no way, you're locked into that time." I understood that he wanted to keep the schedule but he was unfriendly and gave poor customer service. A younger guy with glasses saw that I was there as a single and I play there often, so he made it work for me. He was very friendly and helpful.
Foxtail North is across Golf Course Drive, nestled in a nice 1970s-80's neighborhood. Tee box to green is well maintained and the greens were true. The course is flat, but there are undulations in the fairways, doglegs, and some bunkers to keep you thinking. There are houses present on nearly all holes, but there are some redwoods and marshland woven in so the houses don't overwhelm the experience. I was paired up with a friendly husband and wife who were members at Foxtail.
The pace of play was excellent! Our threesome of competent golfers finished the round in 3 hours 20 minutes (we rode carts). It was a great day of golf and I made it to dinner on time.
P.S. The food is nothing to write home about but they have a great micro brew selection if you're into that. They sel Dale's Pale Ale in tall cans to take out on the course.
Fairway and Greens
Course was in excellent condition. Fairways and Greens were plush and ran true.
Back nine better than front nine
The back nine was in much better condition than the front nine. We would play it again.
