Foxtail Golf Club - North Course
About
Foxtail Golf Club in Rohnert Park offers two championship courses, the North and the South, situated in the heart of wine country. The North Course originally opened in 1974 but underwent a major renovation that completely redesigned the layout, improving its conditions and making it more challenging. The par-72 North is considerably longer and more difficult than the par-71 South. The North features multiple doglegs and strategically placed sand traps that will test even the most experienced players. To make the golf course a bit more approachable, water hazards don't play a prominent role, though they do appear on a few holes, and the forward tees are very player friendly. With 36 holes available, Foxtail G.C. is able to host tournaments and events while still having another 18 holes open to the public.

This is a beautiful golf course and was in absolutely pristine condition when we played. I have only recently gotten “more serious” about golf and wanted the challenge of a higher calibre course, which it sounded like from the write up. I was not disappointed. I found the course challenging, but not unapproachably so, which helped soften the blow of greens that broke my heart all day. I also finally discovered what a “brown sugar bunker” is. It was a definite treat to play here, and I would not hesitate to play another round if chance finds me back in the area.
The better course of the Foxtail group
Greens are in good shape and very fast. We took several holes to get used to them. Fairways in good shape and some of the rough needs to be mowed but most has been donel
Good conditions.
First time back after the biblical rains when we quit on the first hole after losing three balls on good shots. The moisture has abated and left a lush well manicured course. Good playable.track in great shape.
Good local track
Tee boxes were a bit chewed up, but still playable. Fairways were in great condition, as were the greens. No sand in the bunkers, mostly mud, just don’t hit it in the bunkers and you’ll be fine.
