Good course to work on your game
Middle of the holiday season and hardly no one was out there. The greens super fast.
Wide fairways, challenging greens
Los of subtle breaks to the greens makes it challenging, and each roundi seem to have at least a couple holes where I find myself above the pin and in a place where it's just not possible to lag up within a few feet from the hole due to the undulations. The fairways are very generous. You play the same nine holes twice, but there are two pins at each green, making for different looks on the approach shot each go-around. The price and fairways keep me coming back, but I never seem to do well enough here.
Also, the fifth fairway plays a lot longer than its yardage. Three of the last four times I've played it, I've felt great about my drives only to go out and find them around 200 yards (I average about 220 and when I feel great, it's usually about 240), leaving me a longer iron than I want to hit in over those big bunkers to a very tough green. This hole is responsible for many of my disaster scores.
Disappointing
Greens were outstanding. Bunkers looked like they had not been worked on for months. Impossible to hit out with wedge.
Always easy to get in a round.
I play this course about once a week, usually without making a tee time in advance. It is easy to get
around in less than 4 hours. The two pin placements on each green make it seem like a different nine holes each time around. The greens are very true. Staff is very friendly.
as always course was alot of fun and well cared for
I like the format of this course(9 holes played twice gives you a second chance if you blow a hole
Greens are nice
Teed off at 6:45 and was done with 18 by 9:30. Greens are nice and putt true. Rough is too long and some areas need some work.
Great value - especially quality of the greens
A very playable course with excellent greens. Good players will score well, average players will enjoy the forgiveness. I love the 3-3-3 setup between par 3's, par 4's and par 5's I just wish there were longer tee boxes for the par 4's - they are all 3 fairly short. Solid par 5's and sneaky hard par 3's though. Definitely a great course for a pleasurable round and a great value as well!!
Great Value for the course
Played 18 with a cart and the course was very user friendly and the greens were running true. Hitting for the yellow and orange flags made for challenging and accurate girs. Staff was very cordial also. We had the course to ourselves which made for an enjoyable round. We've played here before and will be back.
Don't waste your money
The course website shows an immaculate 9-hole course. After seeing it in person, it's obvious the pictures were taken the day the course opened. The fairways are dry and dead. The rough is full of weeds. Pace of play was awful. Got stuck behind a group of 5, YES 5, with 2 players walking. After nearly two hours I made it though 5 holes. The course has potential, and with a good superintendent it could be a fun and challenging course.
One of the best deals in the valley
I normally walk. And the rate during weekdays is under $20 for seniors (in my wheelhouse). With Golf Now I paid only $18 with cart (hot deal). Can't beat it. They have the best greens around. Fast and true, although they have recently been plugged, give them another month and they will back to their superior greatness.
The course plays bigger that your ave. 9 hole course.
The greens had been aerated a couple of weeks ago they still needs to heal maybe another two weeks or so. Fairway is starting to green out again being they are burmuda. Over all the course with really look great andt play great in about three to four weeks from now.
No Aeration notice
The course was nice but they recently aerated and there was no warning. I wouldn't have went there if I knew. Course is fairly open with a lot of water hazards. Tee times get bunched up being that its a 9 hole, but still had fun.
THE GREENS are fast
nice track the greens are fast ball has lots of roll nice staff
Not wonderful in winter conditions -
the fairways are yellow, but a good deal for the money
Goos practice course
Enjoyed playing Wild Wings even though it had been aerated two days earlier (was aware of conditions prior to playing as golfnow had highlighted recent aeration). The course is 9 holes with 3 each par 3's, 4's and 5's. You play two rounds for your green fee. Course was in overall average condition. Some fairwayss needed some water but were playable. Nice staff. Would play there again. Not extremely difficult but a nice course to play when you have not hit a golf ball during the winter months.
course was open after severe storms for several days. drains nicely in some areas and very poorly in other areas.
booked on golfnow. when i got to the course the staff informed us they would not allow carts on the course. this was obviously a good call by the staff due to the amount of rain the course had to endure over a 2-3 day period. the problem was however that the price paid to golf now includes a cart. the staff at Wildwings pointed that out and promptly wrote out a pass for a cart for my next visit.
the greens on this course are easily some of the best in the Sacramento area. the staff obviously takes pride in their 9-hole course. this is why I continually come back. for a 14 handicap player like myself it sure feels good to come out to a fun course and shoot in the low 80's and upper 70's!!!!!
No Flat Greens Anywhere!
This is an awesome course. There are no flat greens anywhere, but they are all consistant. Same speed on all the greens. Staff and course are A-1 in my books.
Beautiful Greens, fun layout.
When you first pull up, the course doesn't look like much. The small clubhouse and nets for warming up look much like some lesser courses I have played. Yet the staff is very welcoming and friendly, the nets do the job for warm up, and the practice green is immaculate. All the tee boxes are nice and level, something I can't say about some fancier courses. At first the fairways look pretty bad. Yet when you get out on them, the grass is still intact, just a little dry. And hitting off it feels the same as green grass to me. Great for fairway woods. Yet the real star of the course is the greens. They are fast, a little tricky, yet the ball rolls beautifully. Probably the best I have ever putted. And I am not good, so if I putted well, the greens must be good. I just wish the course was not an hour and a half away from home. I would play there all the time if it was closer. Can't wait to go back.
obvious best greens around
also has some great sand, sad to be in the bunker, but new sand is like hitting out of a beach. only nine holes, but not a small executive course, it has 3 par 3, 3 par 4, and 3 par 5, total 36. you play twice and they have two different colored pins on each hole.
