How the Mighty Have Fallen
Any course with a picture of the great Jack Nicholas at their entrance should aspire to provide an experience that he would be proud of. The current powers that be are obviously in it for a money grab caring nothing about providing an enjoyable experience for its guests. Horrible customer service, a driving range once awesome is now nothing more than a glorified cow pasture. 5.5 hour round with NO marshal anywhere to be found.. My only recommendation is to stay away. Spend a bit more and enjoy Cinnabar which is a stones throw away.
The course was beautiful
The course was beautiful. The layout was very confusing. The fact it's only walking only. For a very large golf course was a little nuts to me. If you didn't have to zip zag to each hole would make it a little easier. Morgan hill sun in the summer kicks your butt. They really should have enough carts that's just crazy to me.
Playing golf at 100 degrees
We had a great foursome and nice pace of play. Towards the end heat started to get to us and walking the course seemed like not a good idea. There were still no water coolers or cold water available. Overall really enjoyed the game and the staff was very friendly
Brutal
Golf in the bay area is almost unbearable with the pace of play on most courses. Coyote Creek is no exception, waiting on every tee box and 95% of shots thereafter. The marshall actually asked our group to help him keep groups ahead of us moving. Not sure what we are supposed to do in that situation, confront people to play through just to continue to wait on groups ahead?
The driving range is absolutely mangled, unless you’re a lefty you’re hitting off straight sand and dirt.
The course itself was in good shape and became quite challenging as the wind was howling but in calm conditions it is very fair.
Narrow fairways, direction signs could be more clear
The valley course has narrow fairways, so it’s a test to your shot accuracy. Its layout is on a fairly flat area hence lack of uphill/downhill plays. Some of the hole direction signs can be more clear. There were a couple of holes we almost tee off from the wrong tee boxes. Overall it’s an ok course to fix your urge of play.
Great course condition
Great course condition but some how it is confusing to know where to go for the next hole, Especially for walking. Two different places need to check in also added to the confusing.
Beautiful course
The Valley course is in nice condition. The greens run true and fast. They need a Marshall because the guys in front of us were terribly slow. Our round took 5.5 hours.
Looking forward to playing it again.
Really…
95 degrees, off 101, & no water so they CAN CHARGE YOU A BUCK AT THE TURN. Que ridiculo!!
Valley
Course was in good to very good condition on most holes. some fairways were a bit marginal with patches of dry or dead areas. Greens were excellent.
Bad deal
Teeoff fees include green fee with cart. Pro shop says cart is extra. Avoid paying the valley course and expect to walk or pay extra for the cart.
Fast/early round
Love walking this course, the Marshall approached me to ask me if I wanted him to ask the foursome ahead of me if I could play through. I said yes and he politely went to them with the request. The agreed and I was able to continue my quick, early round.
Thank you
Good value
Beautiful fast greens but the bunkers sucked bad.
