good golf club but some to do list items need attention.
one complaint is that apparently my tee time was overbooked with five players claiming the 7:20 am on the Valley Course. but worked out as I went ahead by myself and later paired up with another single. otherwise, the course toilet facilities were poor. the main one near the snack stand has a urinal which is out of commission (it was last Friday, too) and a toilet that was stopped up. the one near the 5th hole was locked after 8 am. but it is a nice course and worth playing.
No food
Grill at the turn was closed for lunch from 12:45 to 1:15, who closes for lunch at lunch???. No Beverage cart the whole round. We started at 11:10 on a fri.
Fun course
The course is fast and dry, but in very good shape. The rough is a bit challenging on the back nine, stay in the fairway! The greens roll very true. For $60 with a cart on a Sunday, this was a great deal!
Coyote Creek Valley Course
Good course! Plenty of challenges. In very good condition. Greens roll true and fast. The only draw back to both The Valley and The Tournament course is the Afternoon Winds! 25 mph!
This course needs help!......
Yes we started late in the day but I would not wanna pay there green fee for a early or before noon tee time when I can play other courses that are better for a reasonable price. We played the valley course do to the wind we usually play the tournament course which is always in good shape. Lets start at the tee box they were beat there were about 50-100 broken tees on almost every box, the fairways were in pretty good shape, the rough on the other hand looks like it hasn't been mowed in weeks there were ball marks all over the greens the cup edges were rounded off to unbelief there poor excuses for sand which has rocks in it littered the greens impossible to putt if the cup was near a bunker. I've played this course when it has been in much better shape hope they will get it back to par and change there sand.
Good greens
Great course good shape and still green even In this drought compliment to the superintendent!!! And greens crew. I would definitely be back very soon. I also recommend the practice facility to sharpen up your game!!!
Will be back soon
Course was in great shape compared to other Bay Area public courses. It was a very hot day, yet the greens were super soft. The fairways were nice and plush. Pace of play was fast, we were I'm a threesome and never had to wait at any tee box. I will definitely play this course again soon
Tough course with the wind
Coyote creek valley is in an open area with windy conditions in the afternoon making it a good challenge. The conditions were all good except the bunkers are a little hard for my liking. Greens were a little slower than expected too. Overall it was a good outing and a fun course to play.
My Day at Coyote Creek
First time at Coyote Creek and played the valley course. Started out at the driving range and and really liked hitting balls off the grass instead of a mat. So far so good. Went into the clubhouse to pay for our round and the individual that we paid for the round was not very friendly. Went out to the golf carts and the two gentlemen that got the cart for us were very friendly and helpful. For most of the day all was okay with the exception of many of the cart paths where the cement was cracked and broken. Lots of standing water in some areas especially around the cart paths. Decided $55 for the round was not worth going here again. At least the whether was good and I got to play a round of golf. I'll stick to Los Lagos from now on.
Great course to test skills.
Very good course. Greens were in great shape. Played early to avoid afternoon heat.
A Great Course to Play
The Valley course was in excellent condition and the weather was great. We had a great time playing the course (first time for all of us). There is water on the course, mainly creeks, crossing the fairways making some holes great risk/reward challenges. The greens are smooth, fast, firm, and well undulated. The fairways were firm giving plenty of roll. Bunkers allways seemed to be between me and the pin. So place your shots well.
The sand in the bunkers was hard and shallow making bunker shots a challenge to get used to.
Overall, we had a great time and will play the course again.
The golf course we love
Yesterday was the first time we played there. Those there were little windy but we enjoyed very much because of its nice view.Fairways are not difficult but around greens there are always deep bunkers, gutters, hazards or water to challenge us.
We think we'll come back and we 'll call our friends from Europe come and enjoy there too.
Really liked the course
Really enjoyed playing this course. It was my first time playing it and went with a couple other friends. Will be back to play it again.
A good course but
Over all the course was in good shape. The green side bunkers were terrible. We have had no rain but they were mud on top and cement underneath. This is a consistent problem on the course.
Excellent condition, great facility, awesome greens.
The Valley Course (revamped Riverside course) plays second fiddle to the more impressive tournament course at Coyote Creek. But it is a great layout unto itself. Played from the back tees, it is plenty tough, and almost 7,000 yards long. From the whites it's much more playable for all, but is still a worthy challenge for lower handicaps. The winds really rip out there, especially in the afternoon, which can make for an even tougher round (this course has minimal protection from the wind.)
The greens are fantastic. Always in great shape. And fast. Really tough to hold the greens on downwind shots. The par 5s are all reachable, and there are some short par 4s. But the greens are well defended. No gimme holes.
The course is right beside the freeway, which can be a visual/sound distraction for some. But it's a beautiful layout, and the traffic noise is not really an issue.
Given a choice, I would probably still prefer to play the tournament course. But for a change-up, or if there are golfers of varying abilities in your group, the Valley course is great.
Great Day
The staff was extremely friendly, The food and drink where priced faily and the course was a blast! The greens ran true and quick. If I had to give 1 negative it would be the bunkers. They could use real sand.
Valley Course in Nice Shape
Played the Valley course as a two-some. It was in very nice shape, even though we are in a drought. Greens were smooth and not overly fast. Fairways not too dried out and bunkers in good shape. Will be back soon to play it again.
Nice course, tough wind
Second time playing the Valley course. Nice course got progressively tougher as the wind picked up during the round.
One thing think they need to look at was the amount of standing water around. Either they have some major water leaks or they can afford to pull back on the sprinkler time. We are in a drought people.
GREAT LAYOUT
It was more difficult being that it was 103 degrees but inspite of the heat my partner and I enjoyed this place a lot and could see ourselves coming back here a lot in the future. Greens are fast and tricky, must take the time to read it right or even a 3 footer could easily be a miss. Layout was very well put together that it made it fun and will appeal to even the first timer to this course.
great time playing Valley course
had a great time playing here...pace of play was terrific, course was in nice shape, but it was very windy (cannot really control this, eh)! recommend it for a good time and decent challenge
