Yucaipa Valley Golf Club
About
Nestled in the foothills of the San Bernardino Mountains, Yucaipa Valley Golf Club enjoys a stunning backdrop on most of its holes. The beautifully maintained course is certified as an Audubon Cooperative Sanctuary. Yucaipa Valley offers the unique combination of being both challenging and affordable, for this reason it's a local favorite. The layout is player friendly enough to appeal to a wide range of skill levels. It's not terribly formidable but the greens can be challenging because of the slope and speed. There are also a few strategically placed bunkers lurking along the greensides and the occasional water hazard comes into play. The 13th is the signature hole at Yucaipa Valley Golf Club. This tricky par 3 has a severely undulating green bordered by out-of-bounds on the right and water on the left.

Sloooooow play
I like this course. But the play is always really sloooow!
This course has potential to be a better course!!
Yucaipa Has to be played a little later in the spring as the fairways are still hard the ball rolls a long way which did not surprise me ( this is a heavily played public trek) the bunkers really could use some sand most are very thin on that, and the tee boxes could use a break in play some r&r, now as to the greens most are in good shape somewhat fast and hard to read lots of breaks and suttle deviations have to be aware of your speed on your putts!! It was nice to see that they have built a nice club house it was*nt open yet but i think it will be well recieved,,,,
High Hopes
We golfed here on a recommendation that the course condition was comparable to Diamond Valley but was not even close . Fairways were hacked so we played lift clean place and the greens were super slow with tons of ball marks. Not too impressive. Back nine was a little better.
Blame the Regulars
I don't play Yucaipa Valley that often even though it the closest course to my house. Mainly because I don't care for subdivision courses. Right not the fairways are spotty and the greens bumpy, but not so much because of a lack of maintenance as much a lack of care by the playing public. I was a single and I used up both my bottles of divot mix because I filled so many that were not mine. I about wore out my divot tool because players at this course do not fix their marks. I would suggest that the management embark on an aggressive campaign of reminding players to do what is right. We don't need a sign in the cart advertising what is on sale in the pro shop. We need reminders. We need signs on every so many tees. We need to tell players to fix 2 ball marks on every hole.
Yucaipa Valley could be so much better. It is not a bad design. It has good rolling topography. For the most part the homes are not too intrusive. It is well planted with a good variety of trees. And it was great to see the course marshal out there today.
But please, please, please do more to educate the golfers to take better care.
Pace Of Play very Slow
This course needs to stop trying too put so many players out every day. If need raise the rates. The pace of play EVERY day is ridiculously slow. Five hour rounds are not exceptable. When asked the staff seems too think it is okay to be backed up 12 deep on a hole.
Greens were good, but...
I have played this course 10's of times and frankly this is the worst condition that I have ever seen this course. The fairways were dry and patchy, grass was dead, but the worst were the tee boxes - no grass or dead grass - call Billy Casper!! The only consolation were the greens were in good shape. They had manure of all things on the range and the Number 1 hole and the odor was horrible. Very unpleasant! I guess they thought the money they were saving on fertilizer they could spend on building the new clubhouse that was under construction.
Course Marshall Missing In Action!
Course is in need of some attention. The fairways have been deteriorating for a while now and I was aware of that before I booked. However now the greens are starting to look neglected. It is unfortunate as the course is a decent layout.
We had no course marshal the day we played which was unfortunate as the foursome two groups ahead were in need of some prompting to pick up the play as they seemed oblivious to the five groups stacked up behind them.
Darn Sprinklers
The weather was nice and the day was going great.
about 1-hour fro,m sundown with 4 holes left to play, the sprinklers came on on the last four holes, just in time to ruin a great day.
There was also no cart girl for beverages or snacks.
I liked the course but lets get with the program and provide some customer service to the people who pay the bills.
Good value
Overall good value. Construction going on with a new clubhouse, and parts of the course really muddy, but overall a good expierence.
Nice outing
First time at this course but not the last. Nice layout with challenging greens. Only bad thing I can say is the pace of play could have been better.
Cart availability and Pace of Play continue to be problems for this course
Date of play was President's Day holiday and course was only able to provide carts for those teeing off after 11:00AM as earlier tee times finished their round. Claimed problem due to volume of golfers but have played there before and had to wait up to an hour for carts and thus where unable to complete round before sundown. Many carts in shed but seems to be inoperative due to lack of money to effect repairs, yet they are building a new, and expensive clubhouse. Wrong emphasis on priorities.
Don't go there !!!!!
The course looks poor, no grass in the fairways. The greens are not very good.
I showed up for a 12pm tee time, two tournaments in front of us so we had to wait for carts to be returned before we could tee off. The let a foursome tee off with 3 carts knowing that they were out. A group from the 18th green cut in front of us on the 10th tee. When I called the clubhouse they said they would send out a Marshall and never did so we didn't finish the round due to darkness and slow play.
There's also construction for the new clubhouse that will finished some year.
The place has gone down hill since the last time I played there. I won't go back. Spend the extra money and play morongo, oak valley, or soboba. Soboba is high class and looks great compared to the dump
. I emailed the mgr of Yucaipa and got no response. Figures. You guys get a F on your report card.
Good luck you decide to play here. !
Nice course at a great price
Course is in good condition, greens are challenging.
This course has good conditions
Very nice course. Great deal with the golf now app. Looks like their building a new club house. Only thing that it's lacking
Yucaipa Valley Golf
$39 early on weekends & just $29 after 11am. Great course for the $$$. Can't beat it.
Good course..If you have plenty of time!
I really like the course as it has a good range of holes that can play pretty long.
The only downside was the pace of play, on hole 5 there were 4 groups waiting on the tee. They could do with employing a course marshals on a few bottleneck holes to keep groups playing in a timely fashion.
Slow play......
Took 5 hrs....... Very slow, no marshal running the course. This is the third time golfing there and it's always 5-6 hours
dry and yellow
For beeing winter time in southern california this course should be green and beautiful, but not the case... fairways are yellow and greens are dry.. very disappointed for beeing a fan of this course...
Players were stacked on each box.
For the money this is usually a good course with little wind. Range balls were way too expensive $7.00 for a 50 ball bucket? Second time I've played here and I suggest you bring at least a sweater or light playing jacket. Last time it was about a 4 hour round. Fun little course with several good water holes so make sure you have a couple extra balls with you. But on this day it took us almost 5 hrs to finish, waited at every tee box for several mins.
OK course to play
fairways were dry due to lack of rain.....challenging greens were somewhat marked up. Nice holes. nice views.
