Foxtail Golf Club - South Course
About
There are two championship courses at Foxtail Golf Club, the North and the South. Situated in the heart of wine country, both courses enjoy a lush, scenic landscape and pleasant views of the surrounding countryside. The longer and more difficult North Course was completely redesigned to make it more challenging but the player-friendly South Course has remained a favorite destination of both Sonoma and Marin Counties for its playability. It provides a more beginner-friendly option than the North, but there are still plenty of challenges in store. No water hazards come into play but there are several strategically placed bunkers as well as trees lining the fairways. In addition to the two golf courses, Foxtail also boasts one of the best practice facilities in the North Bay. There is a full driving range available as well as chipping and putting greens.

DO NOT PLAY HERE
I would recommend not playing here. They book way to many people at too close of intervals. Our tee time was at 10 am and there were 4 carts on hole 1, 2 of them waiting to tee off, and 3 carts on hole 2, also 2 of them waiting to tee off. There was not way we were going to start at 10. Not to mention it hasn't rained here in Santa Rosa for weeks yet the course was a swamp. There watering system is a joke.
good cheap course
rare to find a course you can play for 10$ love this local course.
Foxtail North
I love the North Course for value and change close to home. $45 plus small service charge. We all rolled in some tough putts . No need to talk about my bad reads or speed .
Fun course.
I enjoyed the course. I felt rates were a bargain and willing to play again. My only issue was the fairways on the first three holes that need mowed.
Average public course
Course was in good enough shape. We never saw a Marshall or starter once. The course has them; the carts marked for that were there. One lame water fountain on the course. No refreshment cart on a warm Friday afternoon.
Foxtail North
Nice course in good shape not too difficult but plenty challenging would recommend this course for anyone that wants to play a better-than-average course at a decent price
Great shape North course
Will come back easily despite the drive from So. Marin
Good for the price
Foxtail is always nice to just go shot a round real quick without breaking the bank. Course is nice if you can stay on the fairway that is. The roughs, are really rough. Good course though. Play there quite a bit
Save your money
Horrible fairways. Rough was worse. Weeds and leaves everywhere. Sand traps horrible, wet, unraked. Greens bumpy. Just punched with wrong size holes? Just basically a course in horrible condition. Probably worth the $30 I guess.
This course was in great condition
Foxtail North was in great condition. Playable and still a challenge.
Fun layout and Challenging
A much better course in every regard than the South Course. Greens were fast and rolled true which was a lot of fun. Definitely a premium on accuracy on approaches.
Golf in the Wine Country
I haven't had the chance to play the North course in over 10 years because I moved to Oregon. I must say that it was a real treat. The course was in great shape. The greens were crafty fast and in great shape. I had a great time and I will be back every time that I make it back to the Golden State.
Wide open course
Somehow I chose the perfect day and time to get out. There were a couple groups ahead of me so I jumped over to the 10th to start. Otherwise there were very few players out there. The rough around many greens had recently been cut and there was a large amount of clippings that swallowed a few of my balls. The greens were in good shape and kinda speedy. Fairways are wide and forgiving. Get out on this course and have some fun!
Great
Initially 1st tee sign was not clear and got lost since it was not near the club house. Otherwise it’s nice place to play.
