Tierra Verde Golf Club

Have played here twice in the last month and it is a hidden gem if you live in Dallas. Enjoyable, great layout. Only 1 or 2 "weird" holes and even these are playable once you have played the course previously. Lots of room, no houses bordering course. Food very good and staff friendly. Great value and honestly as much fun to play as the Tribute, Texas Star, or Cowboys.

First, I did not receive a nice greeting in the pro shop by the person working. He was rude and acted as if i was a not worthy to play here because i booked a hot deal. The course was not busy whatsoever and told me i could not go off alone and to pair up with a threesome. when i asked about getting my own cart, i was told i had to purchase it for $17.50 because my deal only included half a cart, and since it was so cheap why should i get my own cart on top of it. I would understand if the course was slammed and it was needing carts, but the course had hardly any other golfers on it. Everything this guy said was ridiculous and was truly poor customer service. Second, the course was not in great shape for nearly being April. everything was dry and dead with most of the greens having damaged areas on them (see attached picture). will not be playing here again for some time, really left a sour taste in my mouth.

A buddy of mine flew in from the Northeast to play 4 days’ (fri (18), sat (36), sun (36), mon (18)) worth of golf. We played Cowboys (x2), Texas Star, Coyote Ridge (x2), and Tierra Verde. I will compare them with a few different reviews, but to short and sweet, they are all ridiculous courses and even in March had great conditions, you can’t go wrong with any.

Tierra Verde was our Sunday Morning round (round #4). Nestled in between the south boundaries of Dallas and Fort Worth, you would never know there are a few Million people around you. Each hole is separated, and each hole was unique. The conditions were great and in April ill be back again to see if they are impeccable like I think they will be with some sun and attention.

We had a 3-hour 10-minute round as we played through the 4-some in front of us at hole #2 and never saw anyone again, albeit we had an 8:20-tee time. Very few flat spots in the fairway so if you don’t like being above or below the ball then you might now like this course. I love undulations and this place was special with them.

Bunkers were fine and sandy. The rough wasn’t overgrown but they could make this course near impossible if they let the natural stuff grow out. not too much water except for a few holes and a super fun par 3 peninsula.

The staff was overly friendly and accommodating and we appreciate the hospitality. The club house nice and had everything you needed. The practice area was sufficient.

There were some little winter sprigs poking through some of the greens which is the one and only criticism, but with some dry warm weather they will be gone in a jiffy. Although the greens still rolled excellent and were challenging and curvy.

We have a 4-some yearly golf trip we moved from myrtle to Dallas (which is a far better experience in all respects except for no ocean) and this will become one of our must plays on the list. Believe the hype from all the reviews you read, this track is excellent.

This is a must play for any DFW golfer. The greens have seen better days but for the most part are great. The layout is fantastic and will certainly leave you wanting to come back for more. Bunkers are well-kept. Staff is always great and the practice facility is one of the better ones around. Give it a try! You won’t regret it.

Great course. Friendly staff. The pro shop attendant was very helpful, great information about the course. Overall, the course was in great condition for the “winter” part of the season. The greens were nice and rolled true. I would definitely recommend this course.

Best layout of any course I’ve played in DFW. Greens were in good shape and rolled true. Some weeds on the greens and fairways but not enough to take away from the experience

It was Jan 1, 2019 here in the DFW (TX) metroplex and it was chilly. A great GN "Hot Deal" could not be passed up for that price. So my partner and I teed of early from our scheduled time (there was nobody there) and had a leisurely cart path only round of golf. We did see another twosome later in the round but that was it. I golf in any weather and the cold weather gave us peace and serenity rarely found in a round of golf in this area. After all golf is golf !!!!!! GO FIND YER GAME AND DON'T BE SCARE'T of the weather all you fair weather Texas golfers...............

Before I start, you need to know that we got nearly 2in. of rain the night before. We had already been contacted by the Club House that it would be Cart Path ONLY and the range was closed. Incredible that they would reach out and let us know this before we arrived. Being that we wanted to play the course we came out anyway. The course was in great condition considering the rain. There were quite a few areas of standing water along the cart path and some soft spots, but still was very impressed. The greens are showing spots of other grass blending in, but still rolled pretty smooth. Layout was nice, tight with narrow landing areas on some holes, but rewarded straight drives giving you short irons into the green. We played the Gold Tee’s, which made the round fun and challenging at times. Can’t wait to go back in the Spring, to see the course again. I would definitely recommend this course, in my opinion well worth the $55 Green Fee.

I enjoyed playing this course today. The course was in good shape and played very well. The weather was not the best, it drizzled rain most of the day. But it could not dampen my spirits. I recommend this course to any one looking for a great place to play golf.

Course was in good shape and a very good layout. Marshals were around and with the exception of one, didn’t do much. With a 1:30 starting time, we barely finished before dark.
