Tierra Verde Golf Club
About
Located in a remote southwest part of the city, Tierra Verde is the successful result of Arlington’s Parks and Recreation Department’s effort to provide an upscale, daily fee municipal to complement the other public golf options in town.
Labeled with the new and prestigious Audubon International Signature Certification, this course was the first in Texas and the first municipal course in the world to achieve that honor. The certification signifies that the course was “designed, constructed, and maintained using wildlife conservation and habitat enhancement, water quality management, and water conservation.” What this means for the inconsistent hack is that sprayed shots are not out-of-bounds, but instead buried in a “protected environment.” Unfortunately, the penalty still applies and you’ll need to take your drop. The opening hole is a good example–it’s a basic 355-yard hole, but anything sliced right will find a plum tree thicket, which is the same as hitting it into a lake.
In terms of strategy, you’ll be able to enjoy the generous fairways, but the approaches will require much more precision. Look at the scorecard and get your pars in on the shorter holes, then manage your game to avoid huge numbers on the more difficult holes.
One of the better holes on the front is No. 8, a 518 yard doglegger left that bends hard enough to favor a severe hook. Watch out for the multi-level green and its deceptive turns.
Water is more prominent on the back, as you’ll see on No. 9, a short par 4 that requires a tee shot over water. The narrow fairway squeezes toward the green, and it’s nice to know that the green widens on the back side. The par 5 No. 13 is a birdie hole if you pay attention to the flag position on the huge figure 8 shaped green. This one has water off the tee, as does No. 12. In fact, if you’re short on balls at the turn, you should stock up. Water impacts play time and time again. No. 18, a long par 4 at 437 yards, involves a creek in the fairway that must be carried on the approach.
Other notes: Another bonus at Tierra Verde is the club’s three-hole practice course and lighted driving range.
Getting there : Take US 287 south off of I-20. Find Eden Road and turn right. The entrance is on the left.

Arlington TX Gem
Great secluded course, excellent course conditions with multiple tees to challenge all handicaps. Course reminded me of many great tracks in PAC NW with marshes, ponds, and wooded areas outlining each hole. Any golfer will appreciate playing here and staff on duty was exceptional. As if that wasn't enough, had the breakfast burrito special for $3.50 which was a good tasty bite to start the round. If you're in the DFW area I highly recommend playing Tierra Verde.
A DFW Gem
Though it is a bit of a drive for many in the DFW area this is truly a gem and well worth the trek. The course conditions were very good, the layout is fantastic, and the overall experience is among the best in DFW.
Thank you for your 5-Star review. It is great to hear your feedback, make sure to schedule your next round at www.arlingtongolf.com for the best rates. See you at the course.
The course and greens were in great condition. Practice area was good and roomy.

Worth the Drive
Course is challenging, doesn’t feel like you’re in North Texas. Course is worth the drive from Dallas, if you haven’t played it you need to give it a shot.
Thank you for your 5-Star review. It is great to hear your feedback, make sure to schedule your next round at www.arlingtongolf.com for the best rates. See you at the course.
Good Bones
This is a fun course that with a little TLC could be really good and maybe once was really good. Great staff, very friendly. Course has had a tough time waking up from winter, greens were a little bumpy and grass was a little thin all the way around.
Thank you for your 4-Star review. It is great to hear your feedback, make sure to schedule your next round at www.arlingtongolf.com for the best rates. The course is in great shape after our indifferent Spring in Texas. See you at the course.
Out of the ordinary.
This typically well conditioned course was in bad shape.
Hopefully it comes back soon.
It’s a great layout.

A really great course
I love everything about this course except the bunkers need more sand

Easter Bunny
Played on Easter Sunday via a golf now app at a 30% discount. The fairways are filling in nicely but the greens weren’t the usual because of the Po coming up which is kinda normal for this time of the year? But the only turn off was the replay rate, a whooping 45 dollars. It was slow and we coulda jumped in after having lunch but NOT at that fate. I understand being a muni course and but the Pro shop staff hands were tied.
Thank you for your review. We really appreciate your feedback and visit on the Easter Holiday. Hope to have you return to the facility soon, check www.arlingtongolf.com for the best rates.
Dont miss the fairway
Course was in good shape. Staff were very nice and the food was good. My only complaint about the course is that its not very forgiving. Im a decent golfer, not great, and occasionally hit a wayward shot. Being in the trees here means you will not find your ball. If you do, its at the bottom of the thorny bushes, which are EVERYWHERE, so good luck with that. I recommemd this course but suggest that you be hitting the ball well when you wanna play here. Stay in the short grass, as there aint much rough between the fairway and the trees. Greens are undulated and tough, but roll very nicely.

Bad management
I play the course quite often and normally everything is great. But this time was different. Let me start by saying that i had a1:30 tee time and arrived at the course around 11:30 because i confused the time. The course was empty because the previous schedule tournament cancelled that morning. Given no one was at the course and there were no tee times scheduled i asked if i could go early. The Asst Pro told me it would cost an additional 35 to play because i paid a reduced rate online. I told him if the course was full or if he had a full tee sheet that would make sense. But i was already paid, no one was on the course and no tee time for at least an hour. It made no sense that he took that approach at that time. I waited until my tee time by then they stacked up four groups and the course was slow. In frontof our groups there were either threesomes or two somes. Net, the coursewas wide open and i feel the Asst Pro made a bad call
Thanks for the response. To be clear I acknowledge the rules and the fine print. My point is that the Asst Pro could have made a different choice given there was no one there to tee off. Did he follow the rules probably, could he have done something different definitely. Since you mention the video you will notice that I did not finish the round. So if the twosome played through and finished in 3 hours ..great for them.
Thank you for your recent review of the facility. Certainly the circumstances surrounding Saturday, February 17th were unique at Tierra Verde Golf Club, as the UIL 6A Girls Preview Round 2 was scheduled to commence with a 7:30 a.m. Shotgun Start. Played was officially cancelled at 9:30 a.m. due to inclement weather, As a result, we adjusted the tee sheet for open booking of tee times accordingly. Understand, the policy in place of a fee for changing of the tee time is due to the inability to book the originally booked tee-time, in this case your 1:30 p.m. time. Upon your booking of the Trade Time on 2/16 at 9:36 p.m, the notes contains the following information. Tee Time Notes: Teeing off at any time other than your reserved time will result in additional fees. 100% due online to GolfNow. This tee time and price is offered by GolfNow and not the course. Upon reviewing video, as well as our notes, your threesome teed off at 1:25 p.m. and finished play at 4:15 p.m., for a total of 2 hours and 50 minutes. We hope you understand the circumstances, and will visit Arlington Golf in the near future. Please go to www.arlingtongolf.com for the best rates.

A winter's game
The grass here is dormant in January but is not a deterrent to playing. It was supposed to be 65 degrees but was bitter cold. It's a nice course but I was just trying to stay warm.
Thank you for your recent 4 Star review. Please revisit the facility as warmer weather arrives. We really appreciate your feedback. Please visit www.arlingtongolf.com for the best rates.
Hidden Gem
This is a top shelf coarse and facility! Blessed that I don’t live far, the practice area and range is one of the best around. The course will test you and some holes are blind dog legs, but the fairways are generous. The greens are receptive, roll nice and well kept. I would recommend this coarse!
Also, the restaurant/ bar serves great food.
Thank you for your Awesome 4-Star review. We really appreciate your feedback. Hope to have you return to the facility soon, check www.arlingtongolf.com for the best rates.
Green Earth
The course layout and conditions of the Tee Boxes and Greens were superb. The only thing that dampened course conditions was the winter weather. This course is challenging, but a fun time. I recommend trying it out if you have not!
